Hack job, at least it's not double decker
So looked at a bunch of 996 turbo aftermarket deck lids and the fitment is horrible at best. I didn't like the way the stock wing just lays on top of the decklid so I monkeyed with it a little. Came out decent. I don't' think there's a way to make that deck lid look good. I could live with some of the aftermarket ones if the fitment is good. If anyone has a aftermarket wing(damaged) let me know. I would like to try to frankinstein the aftermarket wing part and the OEM lid. That way I could get exact OEM fitment.

Yes, the point was to make it into 1 piece. For some reason, 996 spoilers(aftermarket), except the techart whale tail for the non turbo, all look like some one stuck a wing on top of a wing. And the fitment, well that's another story. I like the stock but only in the bottom position. But that too looks like you layed a piece of wing on top of a wing. I was just going to take the wing off and filled the holes, but there is a slight protrusion above the 3rd stop light. So I molded the spoiler onto the decklid. Now the fitment is perfect(OEM), and it looks like a one piece, not a double decker.

Hopefully it is additional downforce and not drag!

Yeah, next time I go over 150+, I'll put a brick or two in the engine bay.

Downforce...drag...whatever. I do know it goes up at about 75mph and I think it creates more downforce than a couple of bricks?
I'm just saying...your work looks good and I have to agree with the spoiler extended, it looks a little off, but it's taking away from functionality that was designed and tested by Porsche.

Now you may have up-force and some instability, just from what I have heard about keping the spoiler down, but no real facts, just talk. You could have just put a Carrera lid on it.???? Anyway, It does look good from those pics. The only thing that matters is if it's how YOU want it. Good work.
