I think that it is green loctite. I ended up getting one new part: the connector under the oil filter bracket. The filler looked like green "wicking" loctite.

In your case Jon, at the track, since the responsible people are asking for the tubes being pinned or welded, what is going to be the reaction if you tell them you have used a new kind of glue?

Can't say for sure, but for the event that I went to last week, I had to bring a statement from my tech saying that the connections had been welded, or that they had been pinned. The guys running that club (OVR-PCA) are aware that Porsche has supposedly addressed the problem in the newer cars, but they said that they didn't know for sure when they started using the updated parts. So for now, if you have a 996 GT3 or TT, you have to have it pinned or welded.

My 02 GT2 has 17K already.. it is mainly used as a DD with occasional track (drag) races.. should i put this on the to-do list short or long term???

It is not going to be easy to convince the authority of the value of this new glue....May be another 10 years from now

The pins are usually screws and the sealant on them seals the up good.

If I pin w locktite, what is used to seal around the tube itself where the OEM glue was?
