Yes a stereo question

Im sure there are threads out there...but does anyone have some simple idea, solutions to the factory stereo on the 02 996 tt? I am ok withthe bose but the subs are not that great and likely really heavy? I know JL use to make a stealth box for other cars that was a slam dunk for decent base...I think bose may be a bit propietary but I know theres some experts on here that may have ideas...I think even the addition of a 10" would be ok and the factory can keep of with it.

Thanks guys!

Ajs76 is infamous around these parts
That seems brutally expensive (Porsche tax?). I picked up a custom made JL Box off the classifieds here for 450 bucks shipped with 2 JL 10's. That said, quality isn't exactly important for me because of the loud exhaust.

I put something together with a little time and about $20 worth of carbon fibre. There are 2 JL Audio 6.5" subs and, since I had room, I added a couple of 6.5" Infiniti Kappas.

If you want it sounding great, upgrade all the speakers and add a strong 10" sub in the back with plenty of power to push it. There is enough space to add a ported box and a monster 10 if you reverse mount. I actually repaced the door and rears in mine, but have the factory dash speakers running off deck power.

take a look at caraudioinnovations. I bought subwoofers for my 965 from Rod and I believe that he also makes a box for the 996.

I know these aren't too popular but I installed a Kenwood DNX-6960 and a Bazooka tube. The Bazooka tube provides more than enough base for me. Of course I'm just using it for personal use and not to win any contests; also it fit perfectly behind the rear seat and is easily removed for track days.
