k1639 car in the wet at 338kph

Hey Guys,

So this week we took one of our cars to Bruntingthorpe to do some testing. Had to cancel one day because of the really bad rain, but in the end the following day we went and it still rained.

Anyway enjoy the clips. Thanks to Markski @ 911tuning and Todd K for his tuning as always.

Ken

Dash video to 338kph before ran out of space

Passenger on the same run

Overall with flyby and exhaust etc.

I think that is the fastest in the wet at Brunters.

Was the driver wearing his seat belt? I noticed the seat belt warning on the dash. That is an incredible speed to drive in the rain.

The guy never wears his seat belt. He had an accident years ago when he was young and it was only because he wasn't wearing his belt that he survived....so that is why he doesn't.

The problem during the week when running at Bruntingthorpe is that they have a carpark at the end full of cars...kind of makes you brake early, but in the wet the brakes we put on (girodiscs from RSS, and Porsche motorsport calipers with Pagid 29s ) were amazing, even from that speed.

I think it was worse being a passenger for sure, although I have driven faster myself at the same place, but in the dry.

Congrats! You guys are really putting the spurs to those K1639 cars and I commend you for the more thorough testing.

Really funny

His friend has a Turbo PDK, and before this upgrade his car had a mild stage 1 tune, so when they raced the end result was pretty even.
While this project has been on the go, his friend has been asking him like what he was doing and so on. He told him nothing, just a few brake and suspension upgrades etc.

So he raced him tonight, played it gentle on the throttle until they go to 3rd and nailed it. Ran the car to 345kph before running out of road. His friend is not too pleased - thought something was up with his car..lol

I am not sure if I should congratulate you or provide you directions to the nearest pshyc ward. That is an insane speed in the wet weather, glad it all turned out ok.

This is absolute insanity in these conditions. If I was the passenger I think I would have a heart attack. Can't believe he is not wearing a seatbelt either.

My sister in law was the same way, she would never wear a seat belt because she was in a crash when she was younger. She believes the seat belt would have held her in place and she would have been crushed by the steering wheel. Not wearing a belt , she was thrown to the floor under the dash as the wheel made its way into the seat.

Anyway, sweet, is that 210 mph? Awesome, sounds *****en.

nice work... looks like the k16 hybrids are doing great
Wait is that in the rain? with 911tuning intakes above ICs? hhmmm and I thought it hampers performance due to the placement of the filters above ICs... dirt, rain, debris....
