Wow, new Trim Rings are unbelievable!

Finally, the new trim rings have arrived (996, Turbo, etc, and Box, no 997 yet).

For those who have been following the saga, the oem supplier to Porsche has made a slight change to the finish, and they are absolutely STUNNING and PERFECT with no flaws! Really amazing match for the interior trim, and a nice touch. Get 'em while they're here now, they won't last long, and now they cost more to us, but we're holding existing price in check for a while.

The finish has changed ever so slightly to mimic what you see on the aluminum shifter/handbrake package. Rather than brushed aluminum in appearance, it is very subtle, but uniform throughout the finish of the ring.

My girlfriend just bought those for me. The problem is finding the right glue to attach them. The runny super glue they provide makes a total mess. I was lucky to get the small amount off of the first guage I tried. I need a glue with thicker consistency. I tried contact cement as well with no luck.

Clear RTV! Use tape to hold them in place while the RTV cures.

Try a hobby shop. They have super thick CA (super glue). Be very careful though. The fumes will cause permanent fogging on clear plastic. I would suggest using thin 2 sided scotch tape.

All,

Try using a silicone caulk for attaching as it will allow removal down the road if needed without marking the bezels. A small bead of clear should do the trick on each ring.

I used epoxy on one car (they ain't coming off without some marks) and two sided tape on the other. I prefer the two sided tape. Get thee hence to a hobby shop and buy some thickish two sided tape. Works great and will come off some day when the fad changes back to bell-bottom pants or some such.

Order anytime, all inventory is new.

GE Silicone works well, as does 3M double sided thin tape.
