Looking Back - Do You Think You Should Have Stuck With K24/18g?
#16
I just did a 24/20 Billet install, the car made 605awhp on 100 octane, 72lb injectors, EVO 3.5" IC's, inlet pipes, remus exhaust 100 cell cats.
Hey, I can see why guys go to the big boy kits for gobs of power and fun... the car handles the 24/20G turbos as if it came from the factory. Totally in control, doesn't feel much different, just pulls like a bastard when your in boost.

What boost were you running with 100 octane??
Whos tune?
Thanks

I can only speak from what I've read here. A28s are very similar to 3071s (which is an older turbo) in power delivery with better boost response.
My old school pre A28s 2860s do 530 AWHP at 1.3 BAR but full boost is in at 3,000 RPM and the car will make .5+ bar just cruising at part throttle.
I would spend the extra $2K and get the A28 vs the K24/18g (and that's assuming you have K24 cores). The other mods are exactly the same. Just better response.

This doesn't make sense to me - I would expect part-throttle steady-state cruising to be 0.0 bar no matter what turbo is being used...

I'm planning in keeping my car forever, so I might as well do the 'best' upgrade that I can and do it once
I think my limiting factor will be my fuel
I'll be using 99Ron (93-94Mon)
No E85 over here, and I don't want race gas for a daily driver
I could go Meth, but for reasons completely unknown to me I just don't like it as a practical idea
So, with my fuel, should I be done and stick to 18gs?

Markski once told me, "Buy the 18g's and call it a day." You can take out most of the cars on the street with this setup. The few you can't... don't worry about. Your wallet's probably not fat enough anyway!
I also once saw a post a while back where a tuner compared the the two (18g/20g) and stated the difference was about .5 to .8 in the quarter. Is that worth the funds for possible bragging rights? To some it is... That's a question only you can answer!?
