996tt air flow
996tt air flow
can someone tell me where air scoops on side of car go, where air from rear bumpers goes, and where air from under spoiler goes, and where to put turbo leak tester for best results .
Do you filter the air fed from under the spoiler only? Thanks

The air scoops on the side of the car go to the intercoolers and then exits out of the slots on the side of the rear bumper.
If your referring to the slots in the front chin spoiler, they direct the air to duvet or plates that direct air to the front brakes.
Do a search for testing boost leak and you will see how to check for a boost leak.

Air passing through the louvers at the top of the deck lid blows over and through the engine compartment to cool the motor, and also enters the air filter from the rear.
There are several threads on building your own leak tester. There is a basic tester that you can make from PVC pipe that helps you find the big leaks. For a full set, look at Markski's thread:

Thanks, if I look through the slots on the rear bumper I see a filter or radiator. What is that? Is the intercooler air filtered??
Also, does all the air going into the engine go through the filter, then to the turbos, then up to the big black y pipe on top of the motor? If so can I put a leak detector on one leg of the y pipe to test half the car, and then on the other leg of the y pipe to test the other half?

As someone said above, air enters the vents above the engine in front of the rear spoiler, through ducting in the deck lid the air is passed to the airbox, it then goes through the filter and mass airflow sensor and ithen passes through piping/hoses to the turbos, after the air is compressed, it passes through the intercoolers and up through the throttle body into the intake manifold and I to the engine.

I am reading here. If you can suggest a better place why be so afraid to do so?
