Safe to run 335/30/18 on 18x13 wheels

I have done some searches but wanted to see if people who have run this setup can chime in.

I have a BBS E88 18x13 wheel and want to run a BF Goodridge Rival S 335/30/18.

BF Goodridge states the widest wheel you can use is 18x12.5. Usually, I am fan of following the manufacturer specs but it will be a pain to drop .5" width to make the 18x12.5 size.

Is anyone here running this setup? Any issues? Any concerns?

Thanks for your help.

I run 335/30/18 NT01s on 18x13s. NT01s run very wide at 14" tread width and require a 12.5 at a minimum. 12s would be too pinched on those. I don't know how the Rivals compare. What offset are your 18x13 E88s? You will need to run spacers to make that work because there is not combination of centers/rims halves that will give you an offset that works in a 13 on these cars. 12.5" are a direct bolt on in an E88 but not 13.

Here are 18x13 with the silver mono blocks and 18x12.5 below with the gold E88s, both on 335s.. There is no stretch to speak of, they fit very square..

Yes it will work fine. I have 335 rivals on 12 are work ok but a 13 would be better.

This are not going on a 911. It is going on a widebody BMW M3. I want to get first hand opinions from people actually running 335/30/18's on 18x13 wheels as most tire manufacturers limit 335/30/18's to an 18x12.5 wheel. I know through research that corvette, viper, and gt2 guys have run 335/30/18's on 18x13 for a while so just trying to see if there is a chance of having any problems with the tire stretched like that. Wheels are going on high hp car so do not want wheel are tire failure because of the stretched tire.

I am hoping more people chime in.

Thanks guys.

Gotcha. The amount of stretch, or lack thereof, is dependent on the tire as not all 335 are the same obviously. You will find more feedback of 13s on corvette forums. I’m the only Porsche guy running 13s that I’m aware of. Good luck.

Yea, I figured it would be tire dependent but seems like the Rivals run a little wide.

I might try to hit up some corvette forums as they are the other guys that run this size.

Thanks

Hey thanks for the pics, seems they do in fact run wide if that is on a 12" wheel. On a 13" might only have slight stretch.

Interesting setup. Since you drive a gt2, any rubbing? The rim got Gt2 stock offset?
When i through out the AWD, i am thinking of a 255/35 with a 335/30 combo...

I don't have a gt2, just gt2 wing and bumper. As for rubbing, my car is super modded. I think I have my rears rolled and pulled more than anyone, even john. Front as well. I run only the rear intercooler liner in the back. These rears are 12 +41 but I run 5mm spacers as well to push out flush but still habe wiggle run on track to never rub.
as for front, if you do the radiator mod, a 265/35/18 will fit up front fairly easy with that and rolled fenders. 275s require a bit more work and running more camber

vball23 is an unknown quantity at this point
I am running the BF Goodrich 335 30 18 ties on my 18x13 E28 wheels on my 928 widebody. They fit well, a little stretching.

By the way, I am looking for a source for new or used 24 hole BBS barrels for these rims. I have a hairline crack in one and one is a little bent. Any suggestions?
