Preventive maintenance is very important and is not always dependent on the mileage driven. My car gets an annual health check / inspection in addition to the complete oil change etc. It's a cheap insurance !!

Spark Plugs should have been changed during the 30K Major maintenance. However, some say that Spk plgs could be changed more often, if the car is throwing codes and if you have used different plugs such as iridium type or others. Oil change is now 12K or every 2 years, whichever comes first per Porsche website. So, trust what Porsche says or if the car is throwing codes.

i wouldn't follow that advice,.. to change oil every two years or 12k miles. that is criminal negligence

Major maintenance is every 30k mi. You should be able to find the details online somewhere. The 15k intermediary maintenance isn't much more than an oil and filter change.

I'm following Porsche's recommended intervals except for oil and filter. I change that every 5k mi or every year (whichever comes first). VERY cheap insurance for a car that expensive.

I can find it for you when I get home tonight. Still not that much. Some fluids and spark plugs. The rest is mainly checking up on things.

At the very least you should be doing annual oil changes or 6k miles which ever comes first. Also this is a turbocharged car so it will use oil so its very wise to check the oil level every 2k miles to see if it needs topped up.

I usually change the diff, transmission, coolant, and brake fluid every 4-5 years or 30k miles which ever is first. Very cheap insurance for a car this expensive. Fluids will get "stale" with age that is why there is usually a time limit regardless of miles. Actually BMW got in trouble for claiming there transmissions had "lifetime" fluid back in the day and they had a lot of angry customers when there transmission started failing out of warranty... Nothing is "lifetime" IMO.

With digital oil level check there is no reason not to check daily.

i don't know anyone who has these cars that doesn't check the oil at stoplight(s). not every one, but i'm just sayin'. i top off @ 1/4-1/2 qts, and i am certain my car runs better fully topped. never below two lines, esp in this heat and running 0-40.

speaking of major service items. does anyone know what this pollen filter does or doesn't do? i've changed it many times, but given my appreciation of certain pollinated flowers, i'm thinking of leaving the old one in next time. just for laughs.

I blow my pollen filter out with my air compressor about every month! I believe it filters the air coming into the cabin from your HVAC!

Yep, apparently the one in my GTI was missing. I only noticed it when I was about to replace it. Really couldn't tell any difference
