Bugatti Blue RUF conversion

Agreed, the painted 997 look headlights look cheap IMO but to each his own. Don't know what it is and can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe its the small extra round light next to the main one. Buy a 997 if that's the look you want. I like the 996 headlights.....

Horrible way to live really.
Either way, while I agree that some of the stick on GEMBALLA style headlight ovals look kind of weak, painting them is the perfect way to get the classic porsche look.
I know there's a bunch of new users here so I guess I can understand where the incorrect assumption come from. Ultmately, if your statement were "I really want a 993 turbo but can only afford a 996 turbo" then I would understand your sentiment. As it were, it's simply a reflection on your specific internal beliefs. Hey, thats cool. we're all different.
However, the purpose of my post is not to discuss the details of what constitutes individual aesthetic preference - but really to bring a dose of reality back into this misguided rebuttal.
To be clear, this styling modification has existed FAR before the 997 came out. If I remember correctly, they were available soon after the 996 came out. Apparently back then people thought the "broken egg" look was dated and passé - even at its initial inception.

I personally don't care too much for the 996 headlights but I don't like the options available for change either. The only way to make it look good IMO is to somehow do a full front end conversion that allows you to use 997 headlights.
That said, it wasn't that much of a deterrent to me not to buy a 996TT.
It all comes down to personal taste.

Lol! You're right. To be honest, i really like the headlight painting mod I'd consider it but I just had mine refinished and protected. Maybe it's time to get a second set.

The paint to sample color code on the front frame rail is "Bugatti Strong Blue". It's the same color as the Bugatti EB110 super car from the early 90's.

I'll have to take better pics but the gauges are RUF specific and the speedo sweeps to 220MPH vs. 200MPH on a "regular" 996TT.
