GT2 conversion (looking for spoiler and bumper)

Hi guys,

I´m looking for the best conversion pack to upgrade a 996 Turbo S into a "GT2"

I would like to have the pumper with a carbon-fibre lip, also i would like to have the spoiler-plate in carbon!

What pumper and spoiler fits the best and looks like the real GT2 stuff?

Thanks a lot

regards for Austria

I think if you want the best why not just get OEM stuff? You might even be able to score the parts second hand! :-)

the best conversion is all oem parts from sonnen porsche. about 16,000$. next would be precision porsche about 5,000$ but wont have the unseen parts that make everything really work like a gt2. then there are merely cosmetic pieces avaiable from numerous vendors that are less but quality and fitment may be an issue
theres an amazing diy thread on here that a member did a full proper conversion to the gt2 front. what you see is about 10% of the true reason the gt2 front is the way it is. a fantastic read!

The originalparts are way too expensive! don´t want to pay 16k for a bumper and a spoiler!

the key here is you asked for the BEST setup. thats oem. if you merely want the looks without the functionality then theres a host of vendors to choose from.
remember theres a reason the gt2 setup is as it is. aerodynamics and how the air flows over the car. gt2 rear wing with out the supporting mods to front make the car unstable at high speeds. simply bolting on the front bumper without modifying the unseen parts may infact route the air in an adverse way when at high speed. are you willing to risk it to find out?
i believe theres a way to add the functionality to any style of gt2 bumper by moving the center radiator , adding the proper side ductwork and spending some time fitting lines and getting greasy. it will add about 2000$ to the cost of the bumper but i think will be worth the effort. getty design, precision porsche, and mashaw all make the rear decklid and wing and are price competetive. all of these parts will require some minor trimming , fitting and repaint. its the front that needs all the attention

You might want to check on the RUF Rturbo front bumper. It's very similar to the GT2 bumper with identical airflow routing. I have that on my car and it comes with all the proper RUF ducting and brackets to correctly route airflow through the radiators and up and over the front hood of the car. There is also a rear spoiler to complement the aero which has been tested on the Rturbo at 231mph at Nardo. Quality is first rate. The front bumper is made out of the same PU as the factory porsche part and the rear wing is carbon fibre. I don't think it's quite as pricey as the GT2 stuff. I would definitely stay away from any of the immitation stuff that doesn't properly route the airflow especially if you run your car at high speeds as you do in Europe.
