Updated Headlights
Its really a subtle touch you know? It is just right to me. Not so drastic where you go "wow that's different" but visually it really draws out the design of the interior of the light that the chrome loses.
Rawesome!
Rawesome!
I happen to think it works so well because it's black. It helps hide the gap between the headlights and the body panels. With any other color, the headlights do not look as integrated even with the body color painted headlights.
I bought my car with almost the exact set up and thought all 911 came that way until I saw others with all that chrome. (see pic below)
They will look VERY clean and OEM compared to the stock lights and you would think that the stock chrome ones are out of place.
I need to redo my headlights badly and would 100% want to send it to the person that did yours. PLEASE PM ME THE DETAILS, SO I CAN SENT MINE OUT ASAP!
Thanks

I was skeptical of the idea when I read your first post, but after seeing the finished result, I have to admit I like it. I would really have to see it in person to consider doing that to mine. For now my GT2 will stay as is, but I like what you've done.
Interestingly, it didn't turn out exactly like I wanted, but the more I see it the more I like it.
I definitely like it better than the stock chrome lights.
Why is it different than I expected?
1. There is more glare on the lenses than I expected, which makes the main headlight less prominent then I expected.
2. I didn't expect the lines/rings that are molded into the lenses and outline the main light and driving/fog light (though the more I see it, the more interest it adds to the lights).
3. All the little little nicks in the lenses are much more apparent with the black back ground.
Given all of this, I'm still happy withy the change.
Now I want to mount the lights is some other colors to see how that looks.
I will PM everyone tomorrow if I have some extra time.
Thanks to everyone for the compliments. I know someone local with a black 2004 996 Carrera. I will try to get some pictures of our cars side by side to get a dirrect comparison.

Given how rare GT2's are, I think I would leave yours stock as well. Unless you can find a cheap used pair that would allow you to switch back to stock if you wanted to.

I have some good news, some bad news and some more good news.
The good news is I have posted pictures of a silver GT2 below with my blacked out headlights below along with a few other shots..
The bad news is they didn't get one of the headlights sealed completely.
The other good news is I called the company and sent them a picture. They immediately sent me two return shipping labels and said they would fix the issue.
BTW I believe the headlights look better on my buddies GT2 than they do on my black car.
