997ssk questions yet again :)

So I finally had my dealership change my transmission oil and adjust the cable lengths and 997ssk shift housing. I noticed a difference right away, my shifts feel extremely smoother. The shifter still clicks a bit though. Is that normal?

Also, my car was outside today in about 30 degree weather, and shifting initially was almost impossible. Just about every gear was extremely difficult to get in to. But it got better as the car warmed up a bit. Is this also normal with the 997ssk?

Mine is still a little "clicky," but I don't really pay attention to it anymore (had it for about a year). I have trouble getting into 1st gear and sometimes 2nd when it is cold outside, but the rest of the gears, I have no trouble at all (warm or cold).

hate to say i told ya so..

these trans tend to be a bit "stiff at startup/cold temp esp engine OFF..then it warms up. "shifting" ( like initially engaging 1st ) at startup could be difficult but not overly so, and only momentarily, if everything is "right". if it was difficult once you began to drive, it's less likely to be "normal". the 997ssk is what you're getting used to. i would guess.

I have 40,000 + with the original trans fluid and the 997 short shifter and it is smooth enough for me, maybe not as smooth as a stock one but not as notchy as the prior B+M one..
Any trans or shifter is going to be harder at first when it is very cold out,,just my opinion..

i think it's only a recommended change at 90k, which seems too long an interval to me. but i now nothing, other than changing mine helped a lot. now that i think of it, it was nearly 90k when i did it. which would explain it. but then the op had a 30k(?) miles car with ten year old gear oil. so who really knows.

Yeah it's a bit difficult to pinpoint the previous problem with my scenario because I received new gear oil and a cable alignment

Did the problem go away? I'm having the same exact issue.
