Stock bits- sell or keep for resale when time comes?
My garage is starting to accumulate stock parts and wife is wondering what my plan is to get the space back. Of the 996tt cars that go up for sale some end up putting the stock bits back in for a cleaner sale and more recapture on the mods so I'm contemplating what I should do- all parts pulled ~35-45k miles
Stock exhaust with hole drilled for sound
Stock suspension and drop links
Stock 996tt from lower control arms
Stock black powered/heated comfort seats
Orange corner markers
CD tray
996tt shifter
Stock brake pads 70% left
What are you guys doing and how important will it be to put back to stock when sale time comes? Honestly i see myself holding onto this unless something silly comes along like a prepped 7GT3RS (that I can afford) which I'm not ready to double down on yet.

I would keep them as at the very least the new owner will probably want them and would add value to them and profit for you.The suspension would not be worth the work in my opinion but I wouild puts seats in and easier items at sale time.
When I upgraded my car I kept every single nut, bolt, clip wire tie ect.
All take off parts are neatly sorted and small parts baged and identified.
I think this does two things. IF I ever would want to sell the car it would be easy to return to stock. Also if i sold it as is, all the stock parts would go with it.
All that said, keep the stock parts

That has been my initial plan as well. Luckily have been able to recently move seats and exhaust to my companies local warehouse. Top rack and out of the way- those seats are heavy compared to my Euro-GT3s!
The other nice thing about keeping all the stock parts is that it gives you a lot more flexibility come sale time to adjust your price accordingly. If you want to buy another 911 variant later (sounds like you do), you could already have seats or possibly some other mods to transfer over...and that's pretty nice.
The last advantage that comes to mind is that it would demonstrate to the new owner that you were a meticulous owner and you could show them all the parts you've removed and that you performed the current mods yourself. I know that I appreciate that when I'm buying a car, instead of a hand-me-down project that no one is sure where it came from.

just as an example i sold the modded parts off my amg for 7000$ when i went back to stock. the 996 turbo i picked up had 40k$ worth of mods and i paid the same as an identical car across town that was bone stock.
save them and put them on when you decide to move on

+1 on the concept of "meticulousness" on the part of an owner that kept parts. something that would engender confidence from a potential buyer.
i've kept none

I would definitely keep all stock parts if you are able to. I think this is an important contingency for future resale. I would find alternate storage if necessary, to enable you to hold on to all of that stuff.
