New to the forum and porsche community
Hey guys, First time actually signing up for a forum other then to search classifieds. (not the case this time)
Looking foward to learning the in's and out's of the site and meeting some cool people.
Just purchased my first porsche. Have to say I am pretty excited about it, thinking thats what led me to sign up here. Iv been brought to this site quite a few times doing searches on google for things so I figured this is the place to be.
On to the ride! I picked up a 2001 996 Turbo. Belive it is Seal Gray, think that is the color I have seen it called. Has 17k original miles, Champion wheels, tubi exhaust, and a few Carbon fiber peaces, Wheel, shifter and ebrake ( unsure if it came from factory with the carbon). I picked it up for a pretty good deal. It was traded into my dealership so I got it for $37,500.
Looking forward to getting some more HP out of it in the near future. From what I have seen a re-flash would be the way to go for some quick and safe HP.
Any tips or tricks you guys have for me would be greatly appricated.
Also As it is mentioned in my profile I work at Mercedes-benz here in Ft. Lauderdale. So if anybody here needs a good, honest contact for a mercedes or even other makes, feel free to contact me. I would be more then happy to steer you in the rite direction.

That is indeed seal grey with regard to the exterior color...one of my favorites!
Wow...that's just incredible. 17k miles for $37,500 and some very nice mods to boot. You did VERY well my friend. Congratulations, and enjoy every mile.

Great car at a great price. Cheapest bang for the buck HP is a tune (since you already have the exhaust). Coil overs (PSS10 are fine for the street) just don't lower it so much you can't get a decent street alignment out of it. 997 short shifter is nice too. Other little mods would be RS motor mounts and 997 tranny mount (Suncoast).

Yah it is a bit of a snowball effect. I wanted my car a bit more track oriented... Coilovers/drops/GT3 lowers, alignments, lots of tires & brakes, GT2 wheels, GT3 seats, 6-pt harness, fire-suppression, customer rollbar, welded coolant lines, 5x different exhausts, Hans, OMP race suit and only a EPL on the performance side.
Would love to do a 16G kit or Billet upgrade but that also means a clutch and all of the "while you are there upgrades".
These cars are absolutely a blast to drive especially if you have some fun tracks in your area.
I was told to stay off his site... Unfortunately I didn't listen, but sure am having fun!

Thanks for the warm welcome..
Deff planing on suspension, short shifter and re flash in the near furture.
Would love to track it, is going to have to wait till I get another dd and some free time.
I keep getting a code every few days for secondary air injection, I know it's just emissions... Being that I don't have emissions testing here in Florida can this system be by passed??

That's a great deal !! Congrats on you purchase Anthony, love the Seal Grey
I would also consider a LED Interior Kit if you haven't already. Enjoy it and keep us updated with future modification plans.
