Thinking about some PSS10s for my '04 Cab.

For those the have or have had them what are your thoughts for street use only? I like to drive aggressive in the canyons when it's prudent to do so. I also like the lowered stance. Will they go low enough with full suspension travel? I'd like comments on everything you've experienced with them, good and bad. Where are they priced at now? I've seen around 3K up to $4K. What should I expect? How about ease of installation in the garage? I've sone suspension mods before. TIA!

 

It's a great canyon / street coilover. If you want to go low, I would suggest a camber and toe kit for the rear. You can find them (the pss10) for $2900 via tirerack.com.

The installation in the garage is roughly 4-8 hours, depending on your skill / trips to the store. I also have an air compressor which made it much quicker, especially on the center hub nut.

Scott has an EXCELLENT writeup on the pss9 install, very similar for pss10.

We knocked mine out with his guide, we skipped removing the ball joint from the main arm in the front, it was in there so damn tight, we couldn't get it out with the modified tool that Scott used. We were able to lower the arm enough to pull the suspension out under the fender in the wrong.

When you're done, get the car corner balanced and aligned. Also let them settle and have your specs checked again. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner!

Im happy with mine. Made a big difference from stock.

 

I have read a lot of the threads already. Mostly address install issues, dampening settings, etc. I'm looking more for "how do you like it now that you've had it for a while" comments.

Also the install should be pretty easy as my car is low mile and never seen rain, underside is like new with lots of green bolts.

Not much help just yet, but my car is booked in this Wednesday & Thursday to have these Pss10's fitted.

I did plenty of research & it seems for a street setup these are a very good upgrade.

Whilst I'm there I'm also going to do a few other bits to complement the new setup.

I have to say I'm getting really excited about getting all the work done & feeling the transformation on the 250 mile journey back home.
Here's a list of the work being done:

Pss10's @ gt2 ride heights
Rss tarmac series front lower control arms (adjustable)
Rss top mounts
Rss engine mounts
Carbon front strut brace
Rss 7mm spacers for the rear, front track is being widened by 12mm each side with the rss adjustable control arms to dial out the understeer these cars have when stock.

Corner balanced & setup up for fast street & twisting back road driving.

The garage that is doing the work is one of the leading suspension specialists here in the UK & they really excel when it comes to setting up Porsches, & one thing that I've realised from doing the research is that without a good setup by someone who really knows what they are doing then your are just wasting a lot of money & will not be getting the most out of your car.

I will get plenty of pics as I'm basically hanging around in the garage with them for the 2 days to see it through from start to finish.

I will report back once it's all been fitted.

 

Oh you are a HBK'er too? I had pss9's and loved them. On my c2 I liked them so much I put them on my turbo too.

 

Have had pss9 on my car lowered for three years along with droplinks. Love the ride and bought used on eby.

Fit a rear strut brace and tarret drop links as well don't mess about missing them

 

i had PSS10's fitted to my 9E 650 6tt and it transformed the car. as with all suspension it has to be set up properly with a good Geo setting. But it virtually stopped under steer and totally eliminated turn in body roll. I cant praise them enough thb.

 

I've had them for three years. Great for the street esp with a Cab. Don't expect to lower them too much or you need rear dog bones, toe steer links and drop links.
