A friend of mine who failed state inspected was flagged and sent to the MAC center. With a car that he can not drive and a failed inspection for something he was unaware of he was now looking for help. He went on a forum to ask for help, He had a discussion with what he thought was a fellow enthusiast. When he went back to the MAC center to reinspect, the inspector called him out accusing him that he knew his car was chipped and modified. The owner of the car said he had no clue that his car was chipped and bought it that way. the inspector pulled out a printed screen shot of his conversation with the "fellow enthusiast"
This is real be careful who you talk to online.

motorist assistance center, i went to one and he was a good guy and very helpful, not helpful enough to get me to apss though lol, his suggestion was to start removing mods and see which ones are causing the fail
Interesting. I moved from MA just a few years ago but have never heard of these MAC's. Are they new?
i honestly dont know, i had never heard of them until i had trouble passing inspection and someone suggested it
no sign on the door, tucked out of the way in a crappy part of framingham, took me ages to find the damn place, didnt look like they were busy with anything, i went there a couple of times and there was never anyone in there except for the guy running it and his weird assistant, I half expected to be murdered...then raped

I bought a Mazdaspeed back in the day that blew up 5 days after i bought it and the service manager pulled up transcripts from the mazdaspeed forum where i asked for advice on what went wrong and what to do... which they consequently voided the warranty on the entire car for. yay! And just my luck the ownership group now owns the only Porsche dealer within 400 miles.

I could never decide what annoyed me more there: the mods or all the old guys that can turn any post into something political.
