Keyless Push Start Retrofit

Hi all, new Porsche owner and member to the site. Have owned a 01 M3 and a 08 M3 and just made the jump to a EVO660 911. Having owned a 08 M3 with key-less entry and start it spoiled me. Now that I have a car without it I was wondering if there was a solution. I looked into these two companies-

http://advancedkeys.com/Prod_AK104B.html

and

http://www.digitalguarddawg.com/KEYL...COMBO-PG-1.htm

Would either of these work on our cars? I have a 2001 996 Turbo. I would appreciate any help. I did try to do a search but nothing came up. Thanks in advance for any replies. I apologize if this is in the wrong section.

Thanks bull, but that sites push button requires you to still turn the key then push. I'm looking for a "never pull your key out of your pocket" solution.

I agree dhahlen, comfort access was awesome.

Part of the experience of driving a Porsche is using your left hand to fire her up!

I just like that left-turn-the-key-to start- requirement. It's a big part of the Porsche heritage / charm.

No experience but I'm sure I'll have a customer in the near future that will want it then I'll have some feedback. It is the most complete system I have seen to date though.

Every time I dropped my wife off she had the keys in her purse. By the time I ditched her at the grocery store and shut the car off at Home Depot I was stranded. No fob no wife no start. Happened often.

This is typical of switching from a newer to an older car. You start missing luxuries you don't really need but were useful. My M3 also had it. Awesome. Made me getting into my 996TT feel ancient lol. This is definitely interesting but like people have said above, there is some charm in cranking on the left. That Advanced Keys item gives the impression of being a pretty good product, I won't be the first though lol.

Just mount the button on the left an save half the charm I like the push button start in my BMW too! looks interesting maybe a option for the next time the key switch goes bad. Why can't the button just be place where the key went?

SOOO many times my wife got out of the car and walked away with the key in her purse, leaving me in an un-drivable state. I do like the push-button start, but as a mod, not sure.
