18mm spacers
18mm spacers
Suncoast sells RSS 18mm spacers for $190. Question is- is this too much (rear)? Car is lowered 1.75" and has some neg camber. W/ stock twists and 295 Sumis, that puts the top of the tire somewhat inside the well. The current look is awkward, so they need to come out. Will 18's make it look like the Flinstonemobile? Cause' right now it looks like the Clampetts ride..
18mm should have the top of your tire flush with the fender (though the bottom half might be sticking out a bit more) depending on how much negative camber you're running, I know the norm for the rears are usually about 15mm...
I run 18's rear with stock twists and they are just a fine hair past flush at the bulge of the tire. Sorry I can't post a pic because I'm an idiot. But day one, I thought they were too much as the body begins to tuck under, but now...lim very happy I went big!
I’m running 18mm in the rear and 15mm in front on my lowered tt w/stock turbo twist wheels. I couldn’t be happier with the look and have received a lot of compliments. From pics I’ve looked at and research I’ve done, I think lowered cars need wider spacers to look “right”.
That said, since putting spacers on my car 3 months ago, I’ve sheared 84 wheel bolts, destroyed 34 sets of wheel bearings, gone through 19 sets of rear tires, blown out 3 sets of coilovers, nearly killed myself and others 8 times due to the wheels falling off my car at highway speeds, and am pretty sure my turbos are about to blow...due to the spacers…..
Sorry, just had to beat the “spacers are evil and will ruin your car” crowd to the punch.

Lenny at Adaptec. Great quality, and far less $ than anyone else.
Thanks, Daytonaman. I've used H&R and Adaptec. At 15F/18R, both are hub centric, but H&R will definitely cost more - unless you can pick up a used set which pop up frequently in the FS section here. Used or new, don't forget the longer bolts. Good Luck and post some pics post-install! R
Been on H&R ~8/15 F/R for 3 years now and love it. When I swap to the GT2 wheels however I remove front and rear spacers and only use the 8mm in back. Quite the flexible setup and live the look- especially with the neg camber.
