Hvac cover

Does anyone know if the faceplate on the heater control unit can be removed for refinishing? Not the slim rectangular trim but the face that surrounds the window and buttons

Found answer !! For anyone interested check out www.modulemaster.com under LCD repair instructions. Shows how to remove unit and more to the point, how to remove faceplate around LCD and buttons. This is the trim piece I was asking about. They are selling an inexpensive repair kit.

Sure thing, always happy to share a resource. I'm going to look into chaging the color from orange to ..?... If it is just the gel that is shown it would be very easy. Thinking white or red for display. Have seen other places that require soldering new lamps in so if this is that easy I'd go this route.
