I've been a long time Porsche fan and have been dreaming of the day I would finally get ahold of a "widow maker", Once the sale of my Hennessy Viper is complete I will be looking to make that dream come full circle. Recently I started to search by just looking at pictures, to help decide on the color. In doing so I found this yellow one and I was hoping someone can give me more info on it. Maybe the owner was a poster on here, or maybe someone has ran into the car in their travels.

Also what seems to be the going prices? Ill prop pick up a 02 since they are a little cheaper. But we all know asking prices are much different then what they sell for. There are a few for sale on here but I noticed they have been up for a while, Over 6 months to a year, which makes me think their prices are to high. Or are people choosing 997 TTs over GT2s?

I'm thinking
58-63k for an 02 with over 30k miles
63-70k for an 02 with 15-30k miles
70-78k for an 02 with under 15k

 

Its a small, small, small market. For buyers and for sellers.
You really just have to sit around with a check waiting for the GT2 you want to pop up for sale.
Color is also a huge factor since most are silver or black. Hard to be picky.

Mileage too is interesting since a lot are sub 10k cars. I think mine has the most I've ever seen at 44k. Car is so clean it didn't phase me in the slightest though.

Ill take anything but silver, I Enjoy black, red and yellow the most. I saw one with 50k with an Evoms700 kit pop up a year and half ago (maybe more). but your right most are sub 15k. And like you mileage doesnt scare me as long as its clean.

You're damn right I never believed the "these GT2s are special" hype until I drove one.

 

This one seems to be a good deal. It also has Motons, Brembo Race brakes, 8 piston fronts, 4 piston rears, a lot of CF bits and Evoms upgrades. Listed for $70K with 18000 miles.
It is silver but you could always get it wrapped or painted the color of your choice. Wraping is probably a good idea.

The photo shows a front Brembo GTR caliper which are not 8 piston.

 

I would looking more into these.

This one is on here and I'm Sure most of you know that car, the only thing is that it been for sale for quite some time, makes me think twice. and with most out on the market asking 65k with less miles. I think this price needs to come down. I spoke to him about and will keep in touch with him for know.

The research I did on that car showed they did make an 8piston race technologies kit. $22k kit

I don't think they were painted in this case. These matched pretty well to the pic above.
