Ballistic 16cell Lithium Battery in 996 daily driver.

I Purchased a Ballistic 500cca LiPo battery to test in my daily driver 996 has anyone else out there tried this battery?

Its specs seem too good to be true at 3.5 pounds and 500cca but i figured its worth a try. I realise that there will be some extra work in useing it..ie battery tender if it sits for very long but the weight savings seems really good.

I have only read about it in forums. I'm looking for a replacement battery for my 2006 Carrera S. I was looking at the Optima battery but on their website they do not offer one for the 997.

I got the battery and Charger together for about 360.00 cad
the mount and terminal adapters will cost about 100$ to build.
if you want to try one also I would be happy to build 2 brackets at cost to get a couple people to try it out.

Can you post some pictures when it is installed, I would love to see it.

So, daily driver but, would you throw it on a tender at night or will it take an overnight with a cold(I mean 20-30 degree+) start?

I hope their a different type of lipo than I use on my R/C heils, which have a tendency to catch on fire if damaged or overcharged. Check out youtube for lipo fires to see what Im talking about. In fact, I charge mine outside after seeing what happens when they go ballistic (no pun intended).
