I'm running OZ wheels in GT2 offsets, and widths.

I'm running KW Club Sport suspension.., but you should not have a problem running the GT2 offset/ widths on stock suspension.

225 f 295 r 18.

This tyre combo has worked well.
I did 3000km on that set up and was happy.

I then put on h&r sway bars front med rear firm with tarret engineering drop links.
This has helped a lot more than running the different type of Tyres.
The sway bars were installed on the same alignment

I use the car for weekend canyon drives

The bars have made the car a bit firmer but not much.
It is a lot flatter in the corners.
The turn in us a lot sharper.
Mid corner in more planted.
Exit corner requires a more delicate throttle application especially in 1 and 2 gear of my tip car.

I am seriously impressed with the set up now.
Sounds like a very nice setup. May I suggest a transmission mount from the 997 and to top it off, some type of semi solid motor mounts. This will help with your transmission feel drastically.

I went with solid motor mounts, and the chassi came alive, very nimble to toss around those canyon roads, with exceptional feel

Yes you may suggest the motor mounts.

I have thought of them and will look into them.
I want to get more time behind the wheel before any more changes.
I have a targa in a few weeks so will have a night and a full day to get stuck into this set up and really see what is then required.

Possible mounts but also considering lower control arms.
No rush. The car will be with me for some years to come.
2 1/2 years and still excited about it.

replacing the motor mounts is indeed one of the best bang for buck mods. a must for anyone with a propensity toward swift lateral acceleration etc. may take a minute to get used to the slight increase in N&V but the changes to handling, though subtle, are very real indeed. trans mount next. but harder to reach.. lol

Thanks. I've been pouring through multiple pages looking at wheels for about a week now.

More and more it is becoming tempting to go ahead with 19" wheels since there are so many more options. I still want to keep it on 18"s so I'll keep looking.

Sounds good to me. When is the next big event? I just went to the MotoGP race last weekend, it was a blast! That's only the second of those I've been to, first was at Motegi last year. Kinda bummed I didn't get here in time for the ALMS race.

And yea, i drive like grandma LOL, and wouldn't know anything about a proper balance car . LOL
Checking in...

New rubber time.

Need 265/35-18 up front; 315/30-18 rear.

Currently have PS2s on both.

Current choice for the rear will be the PS2. Just nothing in that league, from what I read (recommendations, surveys, etc). Is this still the case?

Any feedback on PSS versus PS2 up front? (I go through 2 sets on the rear for each set up front...) Seems like the PSS is $100 or so less per tire.

(Lots O grip with 265. Plus moton 2Way dropped to GT2 heights. Minimum toe. a bit of camber, but not a track alignment by any stretch)

Thx

A

PS 9" rim up front, just fyi. Can run 265/35 or 245/40

For guys running different type tyres; just make sure your tyre diameters front/rear are within Porsche specs or you will chew through your front diff...

same sizing/dillema/situation here. almost time for new rears but i've decided not to move away from ps2's to the pss until i need all four. fronts are good, so new ps2's at RETAIL for the 315/30 rear until fronts are worn.

i just don't want to run anything other than michi's at this point. they have helped keep me on the road for too long now worth every dime, i think.
