annual cost of ownership....
Hey I was just wondering what the annual cost of ownership is for a turbo. I wanna how much cash you guys are shelling out each year to service these things and keep them looking great.

I think your a little light on your number. My personal experience(painful) buying new. First two years is $24,000 per year. However, for the next two years $12,000. per year is close. Still averaging out over the first four years depreciation is still $18,000. per year.
Money or loosing money on a car is unimportant to me however, being stupid is.
Did I hear somebody say Porsche holds it's value better than GM, Ford or even Kia. I don't think so.
Here's my numbers. I purchased the car new and it's only a weekend car. As such, it only requires an annual service. This does not include upgrades and crap I didn't need to buy (cover, bra, etc)...
Roy
Cost New $126,935
Service $353
Service $387
Service $387
Total Investment $128,061
KBB Value $76,070
Total Hit $51,991
Months of Ownership 50
Cost/Month $1,040

Maintence costs are virtually zilch on my 3 996 TTs except for the $ 500 services and $ 187 oil chnages about once a year. I also go through a set of tires about once a year.
I did drop about $ 20k on repairs for an 89 Turbo that I had about two years that was a seldom used garage queen.
My 90 Ruf I dropped about $ 50k in upgrades and rebuilds on it over 2 years.
Haha, depreciation is a nasty word as I have never ever kept any daily driver car for more than 2 years and mainly keep them for about a year. If you are concerned car budgets and keeping track of how much money you spend on cars, Porsches and exotics may not be for you.
Maybe I am stupid as JMT says, but cars are one area of life I derive pleasure from and getting into my cars and driving them home from work sometimes make my high pressue very stressful job seem worthwhile.
I had an 01 TT that I kept for 2 years and cannot remember how much I lost on it. I think I got $ 90 k on trade in for my 03 TT so I probably spent $ 40k to drive it two years, not counting taxes.
My 03 TT I kept less than a year and lost about $ 30k on it but it was a $ 150k + loaded out car. Traded it for my 04 TT cab.
My 04 TT cab stickered at $ 140,000 and the best offer I got on it here recently when trying to sell it was $ 105,000. So that is $ 35,000 in 10 months but it has 22,000 miles on it.
I had a new 996 C2 once that drove for only 4,000 miles and after 6 months I got only $ 5,000 less than I paid for it. That pretty much was the amount of sales tax and stuff so I came out good on that car considering I purchased it brand new.
