Durametric vs Softronic cable?
If it is just a softronic cable that is set up for flashing a single car it will only do that car.
If it is a full pro cable any tuner can set it up for you to flash cars plus read out as many as you want. Its ability to do that is controlled by them and in some ways Softronic too. The owner of Softronic controls the Internet server that these cables work through. He only cares about the money he makes. Akin to a politician kissing babies to get votes but do not turn your back on him.....
My opinion is buy a pro cable through another vendor other then Softronic. If you need to know of some good ones I can point in in the right direction. All you need to do is ask and I will gladly help.

Engine Guy has some serious issues on facts or reality and we had been holding back on posting on him , his quote " Sour taste " will be the facts of his own posts. Softronic will post all the info for all to look at . It is amazing what people try to post on the internet. Lets just say he gets more than 5 Pinochios...... I will direct to the post on this for factual purposes with scanned docs and JPEGS from sites.

And also with your many other screw ups you took three months to get my the unit I wanted for my own shop and for my own car... Really I could have had one in that same day seeing how the maker of the cables conducted business one building over from my offices. To add to the fact I ended up with a cable that is almost useless to me because you would not release the flashing ability of the cable to allow me to work with a tuner I wanted to do business with. As if I would do any business with you after all that went on.
In then end I got so tired of waiting that I hauled my Car down to the USA to work with a great bunch of Guys at another shop so I could work with them to get my car sorted out.
You know you really could have just shut up and left it as a single post in a thread that would have died quickly just leaving me to be potentially that one disgruntled customer that you just might never have pleased. Now that you want to start a sharing circle I will be very willing to share some of our wonderful exchanges.

The fact is Kyle you ended up with a FREE Profi cable that was never to be as a flashing cable for whatever you wanted.... The Profi cable works just fine and then you expect us to activated so you can then use it with a different tuner takes some brass to be polite. You posted the long reply on the other thread only after we wouldn't do that. Your quotes on shipments etc is non factual especially that we shipped one UPS in which we never did, you wouldn't return one of two cables that you had and so on. I can only find a bit of truth in your post as to the group buy as a whole and you received a cable. The group buy of yours was about 8 people also in which didn't even cover your free profi cable and shipping etc of it or us paying for the 2nd cables return to us. The first cable was lost in Canada and you received a second Next Day within a month and not 3 as you also stated. The first cable had ended up being delivered also just after that.

What is even more concerning is that you expected to post on Softronic without a reply... The only exchanges we had was the group buy that you handed over to us and wanted a cable out of it. Group buys are only supposed to be by INDIVIDUALS of 6speed when NO sponsor sells the product, this was the issue as you started one on a product that is sold by a sponsor. Why have sponsors when any member is going to sell a product that they want and not pay to become one? I should have done that to sell flashes and cables so I wouldnt have to pay on a forum then.
The emails you describe are of us discussing the orig cables shipment and the second...... This you had also posted that we shipped it to the wrong address at first in which we have your email that has the address that you gave us and a copy of the shipping form in which are the same. The second you said was shipped standard ground in which it was shipped Next Day and it goes on and on.
Softronic wouldn't do business with you in the future for these reasons especially since you never bought anything from us.

To answer the OP's question. Softronic includes the Durametric function for one vehicle with a purchased flash. This is that it is to be used on that that car to erase faults etc after flashing. Now should you want to flash one car yet have the Durametric use for 3 (Enthusiast) or Profi etc you can upgrade it when ordering.

I went down to the post office and confirmed that myself. BUT NO you insisted that I pick it up and pay for all the brokerage, duty and import fees a second time as the first one had them too. Kyle you posted the same thing almost twice ???.... We sent you a FREE Profi cable and it was lost in the Canadian post in which we paid for shipping. You started to call within a week asking about it and we mentioned that sometimes they can take a few weeks and was deliverd within a month. You wanted another cable ASAP so we said OK however you can pay for shipping this time since you were supposed to on the first one. You paid for FedEX International Priority because Ground would be to slow. The cable was sent out August 9 a Thursday and received August 13 , Monday and signed by you Fed Ex Tracking 798715241451. You did not get it then on the 20th as you describe in the above post.
This is you quote from the other thread in which you state we sent it UPS Ground shipping on the second cable and it was marked as US not German either as you mention;

You forgot to mention that we paid for the return of the extra cable that you had and you did not labile it as such and in fact we paid customs and shipping to get it back.... You had specifically told us you would ship it back if it showed up yet didn't.
Now as far as any leg work.... You had been calling on your own trying to locate it however we called and started the tracking on it. This is not doing our leg work as described. The insurance in which you said would cover it is also wrong as I have a letter from the USPS that states coverage was limited. USPS Case number DE2074972 that can be scanned. Regardless the cable did show up just about the same time Fed Ex second cable was delivered to you. The copy of our USPS shipping form is very legible in reading it and had no issues when it was accepted for shipment in which I can scan and post. The custom docs also have the same info listed and are attached as well. This quote is what you stated as to its delay below in that it was not marked clearly;
"Well over a week later Scott did send me a cable but his shipping lady and receptionist that sent me the package did not mark the shipping address clearly and the package got lost in the system as soon as it crossed the border into Canada. The return address was also not clearly marked so it lingered in the Postal system due to postal bureaucracy."
The only flashing you were going to perform was to buy a file from us to fix what you had from another tuner in which you did not. Then you decided to make another deal and expected us to enable the cable so that you could sell multiple flashes from yet a third tuner. This part is a classic.
The payments that you received had been a couple and PayPal refunds all money when you send it back to who sent it to you as a refund. Paypal Does not charge you to refund a transaction.
Your sense of fact and reality are a bit off, I hope you get your issues fixed. It is hard to post a response to you as yours are continually changing....

I would still buy from Softronic. I feel that as a Company no matter what you do you will never make everyone happy. I am sure that both parties are right in some way and both are wrong. But really lets get out of the sandbox, Its a good product and I am sure other are having fun with it.

Sorry Tim. I really don't want to screw up your thing with one of your sponsors but as you know I really do not think much of the dealings I have had with Scott.
If you want to squash this thread I have said my bit. I will say that it just might happen again in the future though; I would rather like to see peoples hard earned cash going other businesses.
