Like the topic says, I just picked up my '01 turbo after many months of looking, andsince this forum has gave me so much information, and I relished reading other ppl's post regarding their 996tt journey, I want to share my feelings.

I been searching for well over 8 months, but my "perfect" vehicle rarely showed up, and when they did, I out of of the country (I travel a bit for work). Anyways, I didn't want to let this one slip away. '01, silver (not my favorite color. came from e46 m3 in alpine white and cinnamon, and was one nice/rare color). I was debating between a 996tt or 997s as my first P-car, but glad I chose a 996tt. I mean, this in an engineering marvel and a car fanatics' wet dream, even in 2013. The car has great pull, handles like a dream, and does it with such class. Just want to introduce myself and glad I went with the 996tt vs a 997s. I hope to have some fun days with her. Here are some quick snapshots.

 

Great looking car and welcome. Looks like you have a few upgrades already which is always nice and saves some money.

Silver is a great color I had a white on black 550i that I loved, white is THE color for a car IMO. Silver is pretty good too though.

Seems like a lot of new 996T owners coming on board these days. Nice car with the GT2 deck on the rear. Any performance upgrades?

Yea, it's got some choice mods:H&R coilovers, EVOMS flash, EVOMS intake, I Forged wheels, Fabspeed exhaust (I think it's Fabspeed) w/ 100cells, short shift, GT2 wing, aero kit front lip. Do you think it is necessary I put drop links on it?

Yea, silver wasn't my color of choice, but with the wheels and GT2 wing, looks good to me.

No plans to track it yet. I want to get a new clutch soon. Suggestions?

 

Very nice! My choice was between a 996TT and 997S as well. Also went with a silver 996TT. Black and blue are two of my favorite colors but silver is a lot lower maintenance, that's for sure!
