Intercooler upgrade comparison

I know some of these have been discussed in different threads and my head is going to explode reading all of them.

In the Audi S4 world it is so much easier to just pick one as there is 1-2 top of the line ICs but the 911 world it seems like a tough decision.

Here is the top IC options I have narrowed down to.
So real quick:

997.2 $1400 (Suncoast/ECS etc.)

ETS $1900 http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/E...ercoolers.html

USP $1700
http://uspmotorsports.com/USPMotorsp...es-800-hp.html

MARKSKI $2000-$2100 http://www.911tuning.com/996-Turbo/I...lers-c-66.html

How would you guys rank these in terms of performance/quality?

I am on a EPL K16 flash with exhaust. The biggest turbos I will go will probably be K16 Billets.
I track the car 1-2 times a year.

I am going to pull the trigger this week along with the Aquamist HFS-3 meth kit.

Thank you for all of your insight!!

Options 1, 2 and 4 all work well with each having their own strong points. Since you have a meth kit going on, you can give up the better cooling core (.2) for a more robust core with less restriction and probably still be fine at track days. Mark has great customer service and backs up his stuff. ETS is nice as well but 34 lbs. 16 row option if you go ETS. Meth changes the ballgame!

Until #3 is proven to not be a knockoff core, i would avoid it.

The car is street use only with track days a couple times a year.

I wonder which one performs best with meth?

Construction wise yes. Flow wise yes. Cooling wise, exact opposite but you're mitigating that with meth. .2s are featherweight. I would imagine marks are somewhere in between.

Probably doesn't help, but I just installed 997.2 myself and I think I picked them up used for about $900. I love them so far.

That being said I don't have experience with anything else besides stock.

Getting K16billets put on next week hopefully.

FYI, air to air intercoolers don't even work over 150mph. The air flow passes right over the side scoops. I'm about to switch to water coolers soon. Constant 40 degrees.

Thats good info. I would have never realized that.
Is that a known and proven fact in your Big Dog group?
Thanks for sharing.

Interesting , didn't know that , do you have the source of info for this?

Going to water ..is only good for drag racing, hard driving and long stints under power will cause them to heat soak bad,and then good luck waiting for them to cool.. They become terribly inefficient .

Not to mention the possible leaks and pump malfunctions you can have ..

A bit tough on USP, Chris has probably shared more data about his builds (which include the use of his coolers), than any other tuner.
