So as every tiptronic owner we reach a plateau with Hp so we don't have failure with our transmission This is where I fall - so I would like to know has anyone upgraded there tiptronic/transmission so they can achieve more hp without worrying about it failing??? Is there anywhere in NY that does this?

Thanks in advance!

How much real power are you making. I think around 550-600 crank is at the limit. Maybe 600 if driven prudently. Eventually it will need attention at higher power levels. Do a search as there are exhaustive posts about upgrading the tip. From what I have read maybe 3-4 places discussed with cost around 4-6k not including deinstall and reinstall of your tranny. One place that rebuilds (texas shop?) does these rebuilds and I bet you could drive or ship your car to them and let them rebuild and reinstall. Seems like machining gearbox to accept more clutches and adding some cooling to fluid and upgrading valve body for quicker shifting are the main upgrades. Some of these rebuilds will have you good for nealy 900 or so ft lbs. Do it right so you can run as much power as you care to pay for! This way 700-800 hp will be no prob. and that is plenty fast in a street car! Good luck.

Here is a good thread - linked to a good post regarding a few different places that can service them. If I'm remembering this correctly Renntech is the least expensive option, and they've earned a good reputation as far as I know. Emre does a LOT for the money, and I think he even revalves the transmissions to shift a lot faster - but he's overseas so it might not be the most practical. I have no experience with any (and hope that I don't have to haha)

Yes it is .. It's a 722.6 this is used in many cars. The valve body and guts are the same in many applications. Different ratios and castings but basically the same.
