Filed my complaint with the NHTSA regarding my coolant pipe leak and welding. Everyone who's had this done needs to do the same and maybe we can get the DOT to do something....

This strikes me as one of those recalls that Porsche could actually do smoothly because it's not a part recall, it's a labor recall realistically right? I doubt their techs are so backed up that they couldn't fit a cars in here and there to get this thing ironed out. You're only talking 10k cars, some of which are wrecked or have owners who won't get it done. It's more of a revenue hit from lost service hours than out of pocket costs.

Worst cast, if you assume 2k per fix cost to Porsche x 10k cars, then it's 2 million dollars. Paying 2 Million to avoid a potential publicity nightmare when a coolant hose bursts on the highway causing a multi car pile up? Seems like a solid investment for a company that did 829M in PROFIT last year.

I'm really just trying to figure out reasons for them to help me out

Well put! There legal fees to fight a class action lawsuit would be that much easily!

Not really. You need to replace that clamp with a god quality worm gear clamp.

If there are any regulars on blogs like jalopnik or such, it would be nice to have them post something up there to draw more attention.

I just reported mine as well, so I know the total must be over 10 reports by now, although the NHTSA still reports only 10.

My history on this: coolant hose failure when the vehicle is run medium/hard. I lost 1/2 liter the first couple times in total, and roughly 1 liter of coolant the last time, all over the exhaust and rear driver's side wheel tire. Lucky I did not spin out or have many cars behind me. I captured pictures of the last leak after returning to my garage on 05/03/2013.

Prior to the last leak, I had the front radiator replaced and the Porsche mechanic pressure tested the coolant system to ensure there were no leaks, as I had mentioned it would leak from near the rear driver's side. He did not find any leaks while the car was off and pressure tested.

submit.
My happen right before I enter the highway at low speed, luckily I wasn't driving at high speed, nor any one was following me, otherwise it could cause huge accident
I really hope porsche can address this issue and issue a recall.

This is crazy timing. Just yesterday my car sprayed out a ton of coolant, which best I can tell is coming from the hose just off the water pump on the bottom of the car just behind the exhaust. It's going to the Indy tomorrow to get looked at.

Edit: mechanic says my issue is a bad water pump.
