Moved to the GT3 World

Well guys... It's been great over the last 4 years of TT ownership.. Finally went ahead and traded for a GT3RS. Picked up over the weekend.

Has GMG Exhaust and 7K miles. So far I LOVE IT. Night and day over my TT.

Wonder why I waited so long...

Anyways, will see you on the flip side over in the GT3 forum..

here is the car details

http://www.gt3rsregistry.com/2007GT3RS/vin/3262.htm

The car has all the history in the GT3 Registry. Found out the Porsche Dealer added the GT3RS decal since no White GT3RS came with the decal at bottom of door... Not sure if I will keep it..

Was searching for a Carrara white for some time. Found a few but were rode hard... This one hit and I grabbed it

Sweet car.... If you don't mind me asking how many miles did your TT have and how many miles does the GT3 have? Why do you like it that much more over the TT?

So what are the main differences you have noticed?

NA vs TT - How does it make up for being slower

Very nice car!

Personally, I still think the TT is a better daily driver (bad roads and curbs), but the RS will spank it on the track - the tt is a pig compared to the RS. I am assuming that is the direction you are going. If so, you have an awesome car for it. For lack of a better description...the RS is an extension of the driver with it's razor quickness.

Hands down the TT is the car to go with for Daily Driver. I assume most are like me, love the clover leaf on and off ramps of the freeway. My old TT would never keep up with this car in the turns without some suspension mods.

The TT, IMHO feels more like a true "Grand Touring" car that can go wicked fast if desired. The GT3 is just RAW. The handling is unbelievable in comparison to my TT, and the TT is pretty damn good, so it is wild when you drive and see how much difference there is.

NO REGRETS thus far. Been saving for 2 years to get this done. Made the decision to go with GT3 after a friend let me drive his at VIR. I was ruined from that point forward.

Did you ever track yourTT? plan on tracking RS? I was thinking of switching as well until I drove 997 cup, for the track nothing comes close, now really torn track only car or RS for track/street?

I would consider myself a "Casual Track" guy. I hit it maybe 3 times a year. I did track my TT twice. It was fun but no GT3RS. I plan on getting more involved as much as possible. I purchased with this intent.

Probably won't go as far as some folks. Will likely change out the seats, Sport Club bar, harness and track tires. Other than that, work and pay taxes....

Honestly, the Cup car is very expensive to run and requires special equipment. Just be aware of what is involved monetarily before you go cup car route. Maintaining a Cup car is in another league.

The 2014 GT3 is probably going to be the best street/track car without any mods necessary to run fast.

Do you still have your GT3 Cup? Do you run in in any class or just a open track day racing?

I am thinking about signing up for the Porsche DE Cup school.... 10K Any opinion?

If you are talking about the Porsche sport school at Barber, the 10k school is the one with the cup cars and I'm fairly sure you have to qualify for that one by doing 1 or 2 of the proceeding schools in the TT, Cayman or CS first.

Fantastic school though with fantastic instructors. I believe Andrew Davis (Brumos Racing Rolex Champion) instructs there as well as other really good drivers and coaches.
