What is up with these prices?
Really pisses me off to the this type of free fall with turbo prices. The TT is Porsche's crown jewel and a $43K loss on a $158K car in one year is just dumb! An '05 X50 Cab w/4K miles selling for $118K is another example. The good thing is, anyone in the market for these cars is getting a real bargin. I sure hope the next TT will be much more "limited".

I agree, the price drop is unacceptable. Part of the problem is people are leasing more and more the demand for used cars is declining as a result of new car incentives and interest rates, etc.
I have never leased a car but I may consider it next time I'm in the market. If your car is for business you can expense the entire lease payment as opposed to depreciating a car over X years for a purchase. Pretty nice tax advantage.
BTW, the links don't work.

bottom line is that Porsche really did built too many of them... way not exclusive enough... i don't know about other cities but in Toronto, Canada there are less Carrera S then TT what is wrong with Porsche... i am really dissapointed... my Turbo S dropped 40k in less than 4 months with 2000miles some thing is got to be done about Porsche production rates or else i will loose interest in such a great company... they use to build great cars now they just build premium BMW alikes... don't know but just really dissapointed!!!
prices
Yes the drop in price for these cars is discouraging. I still think you pay the 125+ for this kind of performace period. Some that owned the limited 993tt are benefiting from its fewer numbers and that always supports prices. I think all of these cars will hit equallibrium eventually and support what is still a relativelly high price for a used sports car (65-95k). Even though my car is an 01 and I have seen about 20k drop in 2 years that I have owned it. This does not count the 10k in mods. However this car is still bad *** for what it is worth and the next 2 years will hopefully slow. I still see old 911 turbos still bringing 25-40. I mean come on. These are nice fast cars but they aren't a 996tt. I agree with some who say drive these cars as they will depreciate whether you do or not so enjoy. Bottom line, bottom of prices for nicer cars is not too far away. Keep it nice but enjoy it.

Haha like tell me where do you see them all... I still turn my head when I see one and most of them are Carrera's
I know that I have always loved the 911 Turbo and I think the 996TT is f'ing gorgeous. Never thought I could afford one until a friend of mine said he bought one for $75k and it was a 2001 model that MSRP'd for $120,000! Sucker only had 11,000 miles on it and was driven by some lucky house wife who wanted to upgrade to an Aston Martin. I am shocked that these cars are selling for as low as they are but I am seriously considering buying a 2001-02.
Bottom line, enjoy your cars because I guarantee you I will drive the **** outta mine. (ie, have fun with it)
BTW.-- If you are selling a seal gray 996TT w/ black leather and less than 15k miles then email me.

Most that can afford a $100k+ car wouldn't mind spending more for a new one. With 997TT coming out, no one in the right mind would buy a 996TT if it's only 20-30K more. 997TT promises a lot more performance and HP bragging rights.
So, 996TT will fall some more to below $100k for sure. Not exactly what current owners want to hear but you may consider getting a used one that is mint to avoid rapid depreciation. There are many mint ones out there.
Obviously, many lease these in anticipation for the 997TT or they just like a new car every few years and take tax advantage given lots of P car owners are also business owners.

who cares of the pirce goes down.. drive your cars enjoy it. screw the miles. i love driving my tt evryday.. i enjoy, i love it id otn care if price drops rock bottom, i get my money's worth by driving it.
people that usually complain are the ones who never drove the car.. never appreciated the vehicle for what it is... and now are pissed that the price is low..
u cant blame porsche for selling more cars. if people are buying them why not make them..
please correct me if i am worng..
the 996 and the boxster kept porsche alive and profitable. before these cars porsche was in the **** hole..almost bankrupt.. the only reason why the 993 is good deal to buy used is there isnt that much out there.. hence supply and demand.. other than theta the 996 is more technological advance than the 993..
w/o the 996 & boxster & cayenne porsche would be in trouble or it could be owned by ford right now.. i am glad that they arent..
stop moaning and start driving.. that always put a smile in my face
