V1 or the new Escort 8500 X50?

Based on recent reviews on radartest.com, they bag the V1 has been archaic. They say the Escort 8500 X50 is the champ.

Then why is it that I see a lot of you 0-60 in 3.x second drivers run V1?

Neither one is the best. Get the new BEL.

Radartest actually liked the Escort over the Bel.

Ben, I used the 8500X50 and the V1 side by side for a road trip to San Fran, there is a reason I still have the V1. It picked up on radars quicker and was more consistent and frankly easier for me to read.

Anyone who does alot of crosscountry driving know to not only have a good radar detector, but also listen to the CB. CB will save you more that the radar detector will.

I have both. I like the arrows of the V1 but it goes off more often than the Escort. Range to me is about the same.

going off more should say something, it's doing it's job Is the X50 customizable like the V1 where you can raise the level of when the detector will beep? I just found that feature.
