Crazy vibration, lost 2 lug nuts on the highway. Almost lost a wheel at 60mph eek...

So after months and months of having my wheels on, two lug nuts decided to come lose. Yes I have a torque wrench so i'm thinkin maybe somebody was trying to steal my wheels or something I dunno..

I lost two lugs on the highway, the vibration came on fast and furious (yeah) by the time I safely pulled over the other three were hand tight (or loose), so I was seriously close to losing a wheel, scary stuff. Had my son in the car with me which makes matters even worse.

So, I need a new set of lugs with locking bolts. Not sure I wanna keep any of the lugs on my car anymore. I have 7mm spacer on the rear and the front and rear lugs are the same length, all about 7mm longer than stock set. Where can I get lugs from?

Not interested in titanium, (out of my snack bracket) looking for steel lugs with a locking set. Who sells em?

had something happen to my neighbour a few months back, think vandalism or theft was probably someone's objective when parked at the mall/work/etc.
I replaced all(20) lugs as he had lost one of them and the remaining were an older 1-piece style which were an issue for his car(Volvo)

I would just get new (optional spacer bolts) from Porsche directly, quality guaranteed and simple to find. Looks like the aftermarket one's you have/had are possibly 1-piece where the Porsche one's are two-piece(bolt/washer) which allows more accurate torqueing and is easier on the wheels surface, not mandatory in the slightest-but nice.
Cheers,

Porsche is 14 x 1.5 and stock is 45mm bolt. These are 52mm so 7mm longer which is exactly what my spacers are, they should be perfect. I replaced the two I lost with a Mercedes bolt that's 60mm long even it was ok...

The link you sent say 996 997 Boxster and Caymen, I don't see 914...

no.. lol. was on the app guide on your ecs link. it say for "model" 914(?)

52mm for a 7mm spacer is perfect as you say. 60mm if you happen to run a 15mm spacer rear.

It's all the same ****, just bolts. As long as the pitch and thread is correct the length is determined by the hubs / wheels and spacer involved. That link has these applications: Maybe you need to clear cookeis?

Let me ask you something. When you look at the application guide in the link you posted from ecs,
Does it say those bolts fit a 914 and not a 996 turbo?
I only ask because that info came from the link you posted.
It should have nothing whatsoever to do with my cache cookies or anything else.

I provided you a link to some h&r lug bolts from automation
I know will fit your car if running that 7mm spacer At the end of this day, that's all that will matter. Lol. Whatever, we know what you need.

Ohh on the ECS site, yeah I see ALL and 914, not sure why they have it listed like that, I thought you meant the other link you posed. Either way it fits 996TT.
