the fact that you didn't boost past 1.0 after messing with these components means nothing, ESP in "city" conditions. my car runs at 1.2 but that doesn't mean in the 1/4 mile i usually have to play with i can see that every time! ya know? although i have offered as much help as i can, i strongly suspect you may have reached the limits of your capability to play with your car and achieve favorable results and there is no shame in that.

if i were you? i'd buy a new bosch maf ( to eliminate that as the cause of your psm/abs wakeup ) and have a mechanic install it, and clear the codes and advise. sorry to say, but it sounds like you have clearly reached your limitation ( unless plugging in a new maf puts you instantly at 1.2 again..lol ) GL with it. it can't be that big a deal. only so much stuff can go south vis a vis mafs,..provided all else is functioning normally.

that may be the $64k question here.
Hmmm. Those two screws are tricky. I mean I had to make sure I had the right Torx bit and everything. It probably is way past my limits. .

I have built several cars over the years and understand (for the most part) how the pieces work.

I appreciate your input, but the Sensor from the ebay company certainly is not a refurbished part it is a cheap after market replacement. I took the $40 risk and now I will go OEM.

As for boost, I was hitting 1.2 at the top of third, where in the past I would see 1.0-1.1. I also did several runs to confirm it was not an anomaly.

I will get the codes read again on Monday. Unfortunately, my cheap obdii reader is not capable of pulling anything but the basics.

With all that said, I have driven the car all day on the cleaned Oem MAF and it has not had a single issue. My guess is, it is still on its way out so I will pick a new one up next week and go back to using paper filters.

do you have a k&n filter? if so no need to go back to paper. the biggest mistake folks make with k&n is overoiling the filter and immediatley installing it.

i have never had an issue with k&n filters, i lightly oil it then i let it sit for the better part of a day to dry out any excess then install it. no issues on any car and i use them in all of my cars. just my .02

it's not even a *normal* t20 driver!! its odd, like a security t20?

also..i didn't mean to suggest that all this was beyond the scope of your capabilities, however..

if you didn't know that the maf had to reset, then it's easy to see that other things might not be completely right. that really was my point. i really can't do sh*t to my car.. other than change the maf! lol..

but i also didn't know you were running an aftermarket filter. mahle paper is best unless you have the entire cold air setup etc. once i got rid of my bmc, ( that i NEVER OVER olied ) i haven't had ANY maf issues unless i fry them, as i have posted ad nauseum in here. good luck with it, and obviously i have been trying to help, not criticize your wrenching skills or acumen.

as to the ebay maf.. its a freakin diode! not a flux capacitor! lol . whatever.. works for me and my car. sorry i didnt work for you, though it may still lol
