Water temp sensor?

Hi can someone tell me how many water temp sensors we have on our car, is there one for the gauge and also one that feeds the DME, my gauge seems to work fine but when logging engine temp with the Durametric the values I get seem very odd?

thanks
mike

Only one. Here's the location: Just behind the alternator... I also looked at the wiring diagram and there is only one sensor and the DME (ECU) connector is C22.

By odd I see when first starting up the temp whilst loging fluctuates between 0 degrees C or minus 2 degreees C for about 5 minutes, then slowly climbs. When logging the actual ambient temps were onight 15 C and 20 C when I started the car, so cant be near zero

done a bit more checking on PET it looks like there is a oil temp sensor and water temp sensor both the same part number, different locations. I think the Durametric is sensing the engine temp using the oil temp sensor - please correct me if I am off track....
