Which mods will actually provide gains??
Which mods will actually provide gains??
Hey guys, I have an 05 Turbo S X50 tiptronic with the full Gemballa carbon fiber interior, gemballa bumpers, techart wing, 3 piece forged 19" wheels, coilovers adjustable control arms and the factory pccb carbon ceramic brakes. Are there there any upgrades short of changing turbos or building a motor that will provide worthwhile gains with my current mods?
Performance mods: remapped ecu, fabspeed exhaust with cat delete, fabspeed intake, agency power diverter valves, silicone boost hoses and higher capacity intercoolers. I've seen the 3" y pipes, waste gate actuators and high pressure fuel regulator, will these make a worthwhile difference on my application? What else should I consider?
Thank you for your advice.

Get rid of the '19 wheels and awd.
Do not go with a 3 inch Y pipe. Go with a 2.5 inch Y pipe. Speedtech makes a
quality unit.
And agree with mtlsp, go with 18g or k16 billet turbos, turbo inlet pipes, 2.5 Y pipe
Greddy Profec B boost controller and minimum 3.5 intercoolers. Cost is 6k-8k
and it'll put you in mid 10s 1/4 @ 135ish and mid or low 6 sec 60-130 on race gas tune.

Oh...I just saw your caveat: "short of changing turbos" In a word, no.
You aren't going to convert to rwd and you're not going to replace your
19 inch wheels with lightweight 18 inch wheels. So you are stuck at your
power level.

upgrade the turbos to a billet wheel and get it retuned... period.

Saying without changing turbos is kinda like saying without changing to 997TT to not have more power over stock

Water/Methenol injection with a new tune for more boost.
You may be able to do it with a boost controller instead of a new tune, but you will need to watch your air fuel ratio.
But, if you're asking this question, you should probably get a professional tune.
