The PSI exhaust is tested with the PSI programming as a package. It works hand in hand together to give the optimal performance.
I don't believe their isn't much on KA that isn't proto typed. I believe KA was one of if not the first to introduce North America to Europipe. Many Euro Tuners like Manthey and Roock used Europipe. Rest assure master exhaust builders Steff and Herman of Europipe designed and built them for me at my request.

They assemble all their exhausts by hand. They do not sublet them out to others to build for them. Are you aware PSI used Europipe exhausts just prior to coming out with their "own" exhaust?

One other question. A true test of how well any exhaust performs is not related to peak hp. It is related to backpressure directly before and after the kats. Do you know these numbers for the PSI exhaust? These numbers will tell the real story in relation to the response of your motor.

Collin, my above is not in the spirit of a know it all. If it comes across that way I apologize. It is in the spirit of the free exchange of information.

Yes, I've learned that PSI used to use EP exhaust. That's nothing new in the industry or any industry.

I don't have the numbers that you mentioned. Do you have the numbers for standard EP exhausts?

What I do have is seat of the pants comparison between EP and PSI. It's subjective but reliable to me. I definitely feel the PSI gave a better low end response than the EP. This is before I switched the software.

Not that many people have the opportunity to test exhaust differences only, with everything else being equal.

The information you requested is published on the Europipe website under Tech Information. www.europipe.be

What is new in the industry is masters assembling their own researched and designed product. Europipe is unique in that they assemble their own product. I think of most other companies who sell exhausts along these lines. Imagine for a moment if you will being an astronaut launched into space by a vehicle that was assembled by a group of "low bidders."

Europipe is Quality, Quality and more Quality.

I'm so glad that 969 picked up the PSI products though so that those of us on the Left Coast can check 'em out. NOT for the faint of heart.
Neither is Fabspeed for the faint of heart. But it is for the hard of hearing.

You haven't heard my Europipes! Just ask sharkster. They are second to absolutely nothing.

Compare 85 mm and dual 60 mm tubes on each side to whatever anyone else has to offer. My backpressure is very near open pipe readings.

They sing and purr alright!!! I can confirm that.... We've sold/installed just about every exhaust out there and in terms of buld quality there's is second to none. Everytime I open a new box up I'm amazed at the quality of craftsmanship. And no they really do not resonate (EP stage II quiet).

They should be the highest quality they charge an arm and a leg
for their exhaust!

buddy,

Quality is the reason used Europipe exhausts command and recieve a premium. Don't have to worry about cracks, muffler breaking down or cheap cats no longer doing their job.

While your EP is a beautiful piece of work, and the quality is first rate, it uses a chamber muffler which creates far more back pressure than a straight through racing muffler. I suspect a Fabspeed, with straight through mufflers, produces less backpressure than an EP chamber muffler, notwithstanding the larger EP tubing. Didn't the testing conducted by IA include a EP? I am having an exhaust manufactred this week using straight through mufflers and 76mm tubing. If all goes as planned, it should have less back pessure than both a EP and a Fabspeed.

Hmmm... You should show up to the next meet then. I don't think that I've had the pleasure to meet you or your car.

Back to the topic

Arguing which exhaust sounds best is like debating which highend speaker sounds best or is best constructed. They all sound good and different when enough money is spent.

Now, Rich, how was the cold start this morning? Did you start her up?

I love the unsettling sound of the EP in the first 30 sec or so. The PSI doesn't quite do that and is definitely louder at cold start, which makes me a little uneasy with the neighbors

Yep - that cold start rocks. I had the pleasure of hearing it Sat. morning before the ride. Was thinking of taking the p-car Sunday at 3am when I left to go fishing, but decided that may be too obnoxious, despite the fact I OWN my neighbors!

Craig,

When tested approximately two years ago the fabspeed had more back pressure than my Europipe exhaust. I have tested EVO, Boatman, Ruf, Fabspeed, Europipe Quiet and Europipe Prototype on KA. I'm running the one that had the best response time. Europipe is the best according to all my tests.

Yes, the IA test tested EP. I have already stated in the past why my results differed from theirs.

When you talk exhausts 76 mm straight pipes are not the ideal size for 800 hp. You should be looking at 90 mm. That is great for the track, but here in a California, the way they are clamping down you will have a $2,000.00 ticket before to long and that doesn't even consider the loss of your hearing.

Thanks but no thanks. KA with the quieter exhaust will still pull away from any 996tt/GT2 that I know of.
