Removing headlight washers

Hello everyone.
I am entering my car into the local Porsche club concourse.
The headlights are covered with a plastic film (I think it is called "VPS")
I need to remove it since it does not look perfect anymore.

I need to remove the headlight sprayers so that they can work in that area and possibly install new plastic film.
I have seen many posts of people installing new ones where theirs just flew off but I never saw a post of removing a perfectly working one and where the ***** headlight is not removed. Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

Have another person activate the washer. have a vise grip needle nose pliers ready and when it pops up carefully clamp the stem with the pliers. This will hold it up so you can remove it or clean around it as is.

On a related note, can you make the washers pop up without them spraying? Never tried. The rubber seal on mine isn't waterproof anymore so I was going to check if i could spray a little silicone under there to seal it properly. Can't drive in the rain right now LOL

i just replaced the film on my lamps. i didn't need to lift the washer nozzles as the film was pre-cut to the lamp assembly. it's best to order them that way.

The last time I took apart my working ones (for paint) I just pulled up the cover carefully with my fingers until I could get a full grip on the sprayer then I lifted while inserting a screwdriver to release the clip holding the mechanism in. That seemed to work OK.

Thanks allot guys. So, Todd, Once I have "caught" the washer "sprayer" in the up position, is their a clip I need to remove or a screw or do I just then pull it out? Once out, do I drop the rest back into the hole and after completing the plastic film do I just press the old "washer" back in again and it will clip in?
Thanks

It's a fiction fit. Once you pull up the mechanism, you will see how it's held in. Have a very small screwdriver ready to go when you pull up to release the clip.
