Hooked on Driving at Laguna Seca
Hooked on Driving at Laguna Seca
Tomorrow I'm taking the turbo to Laguna Seca for a "Hooked on Driving" track day! This will be my first track day with the Porsche and also the first time on a real road circuit other than doing some parade laps at the same track on my bike. I'll be sure to post up some videos tomorrow evening. Hopefully none of them involve 360s.
Also met someone there from this site but didn't catch his username. I'm hoping to get in tomorrow as a stand by; there were a few no-shows today so who knows.
Here are some random pics I took between sessions.
I've never seen an exhaust quite like this until today.
I'm uploading a video to youtube of one of the sessions and will post it later. It's a pretty big file, so it's going to take a while.

Here is one of the videos I took. Without checking all the laps, I think the best I managed was 1:50 flat. Barely behind Randy Pobst in a '12 Focus ST but 7 seconds ahead of Jeremy Clarckson in a '04 NSX.
To beat the tracks noise meter, it directs the sound away from the meter so you do not go over. Go over the limit several times and you will be pulled off the track and not able to go out again. There is a person sitting in a booth between corner 4 & 5 with a sound meter that just wants to get you.
