Stock Gearbox Power Levels?
Stock Gearbox Power Levels?
I was wondering what power levels the stock gearbox will handle?
Also how much would it cost to strengthen it.
Talking around 750whp.
Also are there other weak links that show face around this level?

As long as you can stay away from the dreaded misshift, the tranny will hold well over 1000hp. It's the torque that will kill it mostly. 3rd gear seems to break first. Mine is still bone stock. Knock on wood.
I do not know where the upper limit is. Wider square cut gears are available, but are noisy. Friction coating helps. You can install steel syncro's and last but not least a tranny cooler. Here are some pics of the cooler/pump on ours.

+1 on what CVJ said. A tranny cooler goes a long way towards prolonging the life on these cars especially if you track them or have an LSD which will add heat due to the friction of the clutch packs. I have a set up very similar to what CVJ runs. With over 30 track days on it, it's a proven set up. Details of the cooler are below.

My set up is totally hands off but I do have an override ON switch that I normally activate at the track prior to going out to get the oil circulating as opposed to waiting till it hits 200F. Other than that it's basically exactly the same set up.

Wealth Manager, I have not been on the 996tt/GT2 forum much lately so I have not had a chance to view how some people interact. The fact the comment seemed to be ignored seems to indicate members take him with a grain of salt.
I would hope in the future Turkish understands how his comments are viewed and how it effects others. I would not lower yourself to back handed insults. It only tends to spiral downward. This is what the reporting of a post is for. Believe me, there are plenty of mods who will check it out and take action is warrented.
I truly hope this puts an end to this type of behavior and tension among perticipants.
