I own the exact car. I have full warranty till '08.
Yes you should have it if you plan on keeping the car. Its a must in my opinion.
I already used it once for a broken shifter cable and may have to use it again for a clutch issue.

David,

As far as I know any engine modifications can be questioned by Porsche.
Now having said that if you are really friendly with your dealer and nice to them (ie. tipping is not a city in China) always works out to be a good relationship.
I have never had to deal with a Porsche dealer (but have worked for them) being that I bought mine with 2k miles last year and only have 6k on her now and perform all maintenance myself in my shop by myself because I havent had the need for any warranty work as of yet. Damn I said it I will probably have to go and see them next week now.

I paid 2,300 for 4 yrs, 75k w/ 100 deductible from auto warranty brokers.

Had to use it for an alternator ($900 parts, 300 labor).

The great part is that RUF (Dallas) can do the warranty work and they said it was the best experience they've had in a long time with an aftermarket company.

PM for more info if you want it.

i would agree that an extended warranty is a must. there are few good aftermarket ones in california, although i can't remember their names. you may want to just call up a local dealer and ask them which one they would recommend. but i think is definitely worth getting it.

by the way, is the car here yet?? i am coming to visit next time i go to rowland..

I bought the car from ebay, and the seller is a square trade seal member. I bought the extended warranty from them today for $2560 for 7 yrs, 100,000 miles. It's w/ $100 deductible as well. and they offered me 24 months payment with 0 interest which is NICE..........and they told me i can cancel it within 60 days if i changed my mind.....so i guess i will keep it since it looks like pretty important and valuable......but i hope my future mods won't void the warranty tho

you guys think exhuast and ECU will void it?

trovan, i have arranged the horseless carriage to pick up the car(so expensive tho), hope it can be here within 2 weeks, can't wait to see it^^ i will let you know when the car is here^^

That's entirely dependent upon what the shop says. Try to determine what shop is authorized locally to do repairs for the warranty company and then talk to them.
I'd be surprised if there were any problems of that nature.

7 more years from now for $2560? If just one big item fails during the term you will get it all back. That sounds like a pretty good deal.
What does it cover?

warranties can only be voided if they can PROVE your mods are the cause of it.
