Hey Guys, I just saw this article on a test of the Top 2 radar detectors in my 1/14 Car and Driver issue.
Hope this helps some of us that are heavy on the pedal and just in time to ask Santa for another gift..LOL..

The Passport 9500xi. The one with the laser jammers is the way to go! It has saved me so many times that it has more than paid for itself. I have gotten more tickets in the company car than my 911TT. LOL

valentine one, the latest escort and the latest Bell are all great, anything else is lacking.

I just picked up the Escort Passport 9500ix on an amazon golden deal for $350.00. Pretty cool unit for sure with all the GPS features.

The low rating for Valentine 1's "Selectivity" makes me wonder if they haven't read the technical bulletins on the V1 from the website. Switching the V1 into programming mode, I can pretty much filter the bands that I want and don't want.

Of course, the V1 doesn't have GPS, so that's lacking, but as far as "selectivity" goes, it's pretty damn selectable. It should have certainly warranted better than a "1" rating vs. the Escort's "10."

I've been using a v1 for years. Still prefer it to the Escort.

Haha, that's great.

Yea I'm a V1 guy as well. I'd rather be the one filtering out what is a threat and what isn't vs the little computer chip. It's a radar detector after all, not a cop detector.

I love my V1 and Blinder Laser Jammers. Never a ticket and I love the look of the cops hitting me with laser and looking at their guns like something is wrong with them.

Try the Waze app on your smartphone, it gives you thousands of eyes on the road. I have given up on radar detectors.

I have the 9500 escort and a valentine. The escort is soooo much better. Reads radar from a lot further out. The GPS feature is so nice, don't have to hear constant beeping of the same crap you pass each day. I'm ready to rip all the integrated valentine crap out of my car for another escort
