First dyno and improved 60-130
your romanian Fadi I was just there last month with a beautiful romanian girl i know. (lots beautiful girls in romania)
Wish i knew would of loved to of seen ur car maybe next summer ??

great sound, no drone, and ya gotta love those cats!
Fadi,are you refering to whp??
This is a superflow800 dyno that reads usualy 10% less than dynojet, in my understanding all dynos are reading wheel hp but they can add on top losses
I know megion (serghey) for example used this dyno a lot and dynojet too, maybe he can chime in and tell us more
Car didnt make more boost than 2.13 bar tops on the dyno in 3rd gear, i might try stiffer wg spring to check but i think there isnt too much left on the table

My next step was to go for a crazy 4.0/4.1 build with gt3 stuff, 1680 injectors, even bought a Syvecs including all goodies: flexfuel sensor, BT, WIFI modules, 4bar MAP, etc...
At 2bar @6C Temps I started to feel I am too slow for this transmission, grip seems to be a problem even at 100mph as I kept going like a big "S" till 4th, I consider moving back to 4WD to improve that and address somehow the low torque limits of our front diff.
Unfortunately for the transmission besides a sequential dog gearbox thats a lot of $$$, dont see what else we can do to keep up with the big dogs, having a 250-300ms shift doesnt sound so good today
By the other hand I tried to race track the car for the first time, was on a drag suspension setup - car was set very high, very soft suspension settings, MTs in the back and Ps2 in the front.
I tried just 0.9bar and was literally all over, turbos were hitting so hard I was just able to keep her straight... car was oversteering a lot, I suppose next spring with the correct suspension settings ( close to gt2 ) and R888 on all four corners will be better
After getting very close to 1000hp, for next year I wish to make this car a good race track performer too so I did the following :
-new brake disks(OEM), was considering Girodisc but for my skills and track length I will be ok with OEM
-new racing brake fluid, high boiling point
-Carbotech brake pads xp8, these are just fantastic !!
-will set-up correctly my suspension - already installed KW v3, sway bars, etc
-keep her RWD + Wavetrack lsd that works great
-Will look for another clutch, my ERP triple carbon (will be for sale soon for a reasonable price) keeps perfectly the power even at 2.1bar, but is almost on/off... For race track I will need one to be able to modulate a bit more
-Todd K will prepare a new tune for race-track, so I can use my turbos effectively
The only hardware modification I would do short term would be to improve a bit the red line, 7600-7800 rpms would sound good, will see if and what solution will find, if I will be able to do that I am sure my 60-130 time will drop to mid 4s
Other approaches that I consider is to go a bit bigger displacement or smaller turbo, but will see about that later
In the meantime I'd like to try a bit the other platform too
, I am in the market for a GT-R, not going to mod it extensively for next year, maybe 700hp or so to get a bit used to it, and like 4.1L+HTA3586 for 2016 only if I will like the gt-r and not going to mod back the 996tt, or both
...and I guess going to move the Syvecs for the GT-R as my 911 already runs great on OEM ECU and again thank a lot for all your hard work :
-Markski @911tuning for all these years of great support and great hardware provided
-Todd K @Protomotive for all kind of tunes and future plans and projects
-A lot of members here/6Speed Forums - not going to say their names as I might forget one or two
I guess 800-900hp eventually on a bigger displacement and gt28/gt30 turbos is a good limit for our cars, to have them reliable and also be able to use them for any scope call it strip, race track or daily drive or by other words, to use them for what they were created !
Otherwise we can go all out on build engines/trans and huge turbos but will use our cars mainly for straights (not saying I dont like that too
)
I am very curious to compare gt-r with 996tt, will use the gt-r as a DD for a while, going to sell my E93 FBO 335i with upgraded turbos 515hp/650Nm to be able to get the gt-r, cant wait 2015 !
What do you think guys, sounds like a good plan ?

Buying a gtr mate is always a bad plan... Go with 4.1 and 3586 or 6466 turbos.. U will love it...
My car does 60-130 3.62 with tiptronic trans..
I dont know now if i should go with sequential too or not....
My car does 60-130 3.62 with tiptronic trans..
I dont know now if i should go with sequential too or not....
Why is a bad plan? the way I see things without a working 4x4 system and a good transmission, adding power is worthless and dangerous too
I do believe the key is to have both 4wd and quick trans, we learned how to add a ton of power to our engines, but we need to put that on the ground and be (a bit) safe too
Now.... we have 3 platforms
996tt
- doesnt have a good 4wd(at the limit not needed, but better be there) and trans either, complicated to do a working 4wd (including launch) - maybe convert to 997tt 4wd (nobody done it before)
- Tip cannot hold the power, MT is slow; solution seems to be Holinger as we see but is costy, maybe noisy and will see how long will take the power and if will be possible to DD it
997.1tt
- has a good 4wd system, working just fine
- for MT trans see above; TIPs are working well, your car is one of the fastest Pcars anyway; congrats 3.62 is amazing!!! Imo you own the best platform besides 997.1+sequential that I suspect can not be DD
997.2tt
-first we have to address fueling to make enough power
-pdk rocks
-4x4 works fine
So for my initial scope I would have needed a fast transmission (read Holinger) and maybe 4WD conversion that nobody done it before, a lot of R&D that might be too difficult, so best idea that came into my mind was to use another platform that doesnt have the same issues, I considered 997.1 to be too close to 996tt as platform and thought of something else, and I dont like lambos, r8 etc
I would try the gt-r and see if I like it, in the meantime seems some 997.1s give a hard time to everybody else
, so will see... but hp for hp I guess the gt-r delivers huge power easier and more reliable, our luck is we dont need the same power to be as fast I've been into Theo's gt-r from Exelixis 100-200 was 2.7 on the strip if I remember right, so maybe on the street your cars are in the same league, 4.0 and 6766 (1800hp) and before 4.1 and 6466, I like that car too to be honest... I wouldn't go so far hp wise and 9000+ rpms but still.. pretty good spool with the 6466s, some 6266 v2 and 4.1Liter I guess will be killer on the streets and enjoyable setup too
For sure will have two performance cars in the end as will try to sell the 335i, one @700-1000hp and another one @1200-1500hp or so, and one of them is the 996tt
Again congrats 3.62 is FASTTTTTT
