Black paint

Guys, been awhile! I hope your all doing great. I'm gonna freshen my paint and wanted some input. Standard black with minor swirls and contaminants. Always garaged. Seems like I used a friends Menzerna fine polish years ago followed by Pinnacle wax provided excellent results. Just curious what y'all use especially the polish. I can't remember what grade polish?? Menzerna makes a huge variety! Thanks!

I love the Meguair's M105 and M205 combo w/ PC DA. If you only have minor swirls, you can probably get by with 205 only. 105, although technically a compound, can be used as a finish with the right pads and technique. I typically final polish with 205, followed by Poorboys blackhole glaze followed by Wolfgang deep gloss sealant 3.0. Occasionally i'll carnuba over the sealant.

I love Menzerna polishes and use them exclusively.

If you want a good deal on some Pinnacle Souveran or Wolfgang Fuzion I have a tub of each with 80+% left that I am looking to sell.

FG400 is awesome. I can start with an aggressive pad then spritz it with water and finish with a medium pad. Then I go go right to the finest polish.

Or, if the paint is in pretty good shape and I want to start at something more intermediate I'll go with Super Intensive polish.

I always finish off with Super Finish 4000 using a pad with nearly no cut.

Clay bar the car first. If it's only light swirling you can likely touch up one stage with a light polish.

Yep,claying the paint first for sure. I have a Flex polisher which I use with Pinnacle products. But using the Blackfire for the final coat is amazing on black
