battery dead, Hood stuck
battery dead, Hood stuck
I have tried the stupid power jump post it is not working. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to push start their Porsche? Theory being if starts hood will open.
There's two ways around this:
If you have a Porsche or cigarette charger you can juice the car up and pop the hood.
With my car which has the GT2 Bumper there is actually a wire that you can reach through and pull to pop the hood. I'm trying to remember if there was a way to do this when I had a standard bumper on.

I just had this happen to me....
Go to your fuse box in your car and pull out the red power supply on the bottom right corner then hook up the positive jumper cable to it and the negative cable to the door then open the trunk.

thanks
Gotta see if my trickle charges has cigarette lighter plug.
On the fuse box I already tried that it doesn't work. I have left it hook up this morning. There is actually a piece of paper in fuse box with instructions for this.
Owners manual is in the trunk so that would do me no good.
Got a another battery jumped to the fuse box thing now to see if it will charge it.

It has to work for the fuse box 100% make sure the battery your using is fully charged or just get jumper cables for the fuse box if that doesnt work you have an electrical problem.

I've had the battery run down on me more than once unfortunately (limited winter running)
I have gotten the car to start with a push start once, just remember to engage 2nd or 3rd gear.
Also, I've noticed that it's easier popping the frunk through the fuse box if I connect the cables to an SUV battery rather than one from a smaller car. Or get one of those emergency jump start battery packs.
To jump start the car, you hook the cables up to the designated posts in the rear, but you need your rear trunk/hood open for that.
All the best.

Ok So searched for release for bonnet both sides couldn't find it. Tried to pull Start porsche with rzr wouldn't start. Searched one for engine hood didn't find it. This was pain in butt.
So for those in my situation looking for a solution here it is.
Pull fuse to hood and bonnet release. Get two wires attach to positive side of jump box. Insert wires on both sides of fuse. Then Ground negative and pull the switches. The switch will open then find stupid pull releases and relocate to sane location.
