Back to stock to sell??
Probably gonna sell car in next few weeks. have a few little items to fix first though. stupid headlight washer chrome cap ($55), window regulator on driver side, and need new "turbo" emblem for rear deck lid (took it off and broke it during detail few months back). all these parts are in the mail. Probably change oil and cabin filter since i have one laying around.
Car is pretty much stock and never even had a tune. has speedtech 2.5" exhaust, 19" OZ supperleggera wheels in black, and 4-5 carbon fiber bits and pieces. 35,5xx miles
question is…should i go back to stock before selling or should i sell as is? probably will leave the wheels on as i don't have the turbo twists to replace these. still have stock exhaust and all OEM trim pieces so thats no big deal either. also have some K24/18g, plugs, injectors, and odds and ends iv been collecting that i could sell with or separate too. not 100% certain on the sale but 50/50 for sure.

I would think that anyone looking for a stock car is also looking for low miles (which you have) and a manual Tranny?
I feel being a TIP car you would get the most bang for your buck with someone looking for a modded car. But that's just my opinion..........worth about $0.02

yeh its tiptronic…maybe somebody can buy it for their wife!! i even have a complete tiptronic rebuild kit that i pieced together. i figured i would blow the thing after bolt ons but hadn't gotten around to it.
prices on autotrader surprised me for comparable sales. the lowest price i found for similar condition was $44K and most asking $50k and above.
havnt decided what il ask for it but the more stuff I leave on the more firm I would be on my asking price

Tidy up the car make it neat, clean, and presentable....then sell as is. If you could trade your wheels for the OEM turbo twists even swap, I think you'd make a modder happy and your car would look cleaner for a sale. All other mods mention to buyers you have for an additional cost but don't let it have any affiliation with the sale of the car and sell separate.

Take it back to stock. You won't get nearly as much for your mods on the car as you will selling them separately, and most people don't want to buy a car that they think has been raced/ragged on, even if they plan on modding it themselves.
Hell, I may be interested in buying your exhaust and injectors.

As predicted the thirty somethings (kids) say leave it as is. I'm most likely older than their fathers and I say put it back to stock.
It depends on who you are trying to appeal to. Generally older people are a bit more conservative and want something unadulterated, classic, stock, lower mileage and immaculately clean. They have the cash, a place to store the car and are willing to pay more for the right example. With older people the need to manually shift has lost its appeal somewhat. I have a tip Boxster and my Turbo is manual. I really don't care either way.
A younger guy may have to stretch to get the funds and will likely think mods are cool and think of them as valuable and less to do on his own dime. The overall condition is not as important generally, nor is the mileage. They want the look and the prestige associated with the marquis. They may not want to ante up the cost for a premium example.
So all things considered, I say take great pains to put the car back to near mint stock. Even buy used OE wheels and some good used tires if necessary. make you car a 100% no issue, no story, no excuse car and ask top dollar. When a serious buyer looks at all the modded cars out there and finds little issues with all of them yours will look that much better.
A big part of buying a car like the Turbo is personalizing it. If you've already done a bunch of crap, you have partially killed this dream for the perspective buyer. Let him start with a clean canvas and you can separate the green from his wallet.

IMHO, the porsche market is gaining ground on tip purchasers. With the exception of us mod-nutz here on 6SO, most other owners buys their cars to drive on sunday while holding a cup of coffee in their hand. I was participating in my local PCA rally this weekend with only ten cars in the drive, and 8 were tip (granted two were panamera) but all the C2/C4, boxster were tip. That being said, you should at least return the exhaust to stock, wheels may or may not be a big selling point . I do have stock hollow twist if you want to pm me we can work something out.
The CF pieces, nice touches which should incentivise the right buyer to pay the asking price since it looks like it was tastefully done.
Ideally you want the buyer who has the cash on hand and that would trend towards the older buyers.

..
i'm agreeing on it IS stock with just wheels and exhaust! i wouldn't think those two items would impact salability in either direction significantly.

I'd tell you to have a tune put on it then sell, would be more appealing for a buyer IMO. If you're selling with wheels and exhaust it will be something who's looking for some light but classy mods. A tune will work into that nicely.
