Can I replace Slave/Accumulator without dropping Tranny?
My slave and accumulator are in need of replacement. I have the parts, but am trying to figure out if I can do the job without dropping the transmission.
Anyone know of a DIY for this project? I found one for the accumulator only, but I would like to do both.

Just did the accumulator without dropping anything, removed the cooling lines bracket and pushed lines aside. It seemed like barely enough access to do the slave cylinder also, but maybe...
I am in the process, but got stuck in the 27mm wrench not fitting in there to loosen up the accumulator. From other threads I have seen, I need to shave down the open end and cut the wrench in half. Right now the process is on hold until I can get some more time to continue.
Any other methods to getting this accumulator off?
I just have mine on jack stands, the rear only. I am following a few DIYs I found from members. JPFLIP has a nice DIY on renntch.org.

Accum removal
I bought a 'shorty' set of metric wrenches from Harbor Freight that worked well for this task. They have only one open end and a short rounded handle. I don't have the part number, they were in a black hinged plastic kit that had about 10-12 sizes, perhaps $40-50

Yes these look like the same but different packaging. I looked up the slave change and there are some pretty good DIY but I don't have the links. When I looked at it myself I thought I could do it but it will be a *****. I was lucky in that the accumulator was all I needed.
I thought that some good mechanics mirrors or camera system would be a great help for the slave job since part of the job will be blind.

Some people have reported that using a strap wrench worked on the accumulator. Common enough at the auto parts store.
I had to make these:
The original was 22 mm

Replacement was 27mm

Awesome!!! Thanks for the response, I searched and I think these might be the ones you are talking about, let us know. I have a few harbor freights around my way, so an easy pick up if they are in stock.

I picked up the shorty wrench set suggested by DaveSen at harbor freight, the 27mm worked great!! Put the cheater bar (floor jack pole) and cracked it loose. Right tool equals quick job. I didn't go any further since I just wanted to try it to make sure it worked and report back. Hopefully I'll have some more time throughout this week to finish the job. The link for the wrench set is a a few posts up, part number 93668. It actually is a black box as DaveSen mentioned, though the link shows red.

Hehe, definitely used it! I just showed the cashier the coupon through my phone and he honored it with no issues.
