Install iPod Connection in 996TT ?

Would someone please what is current state of the technology to connect iPod to 996TT that has a PCM Navigation module. I wish that the factory had placed an input jack on the front of the unit or somewhere nearby. I'd be happy for a direct connection (no FM modulator) even if I lost the ability to control with OEM head unit. I tried the Belkin FM adaptor. It didn't work well for me...too much static.

FM mod seems to be the only option right now. Dension has been promising a system for years with no progress.

I'm thinking of installing a stand-alone system just to get my ipod hooked up.

FM modulator doesn't do it for me.

Got rid of my XM radio because of the pour sound quality.

There is no current solution unfortunately for the "most" system
If your car is a 02 or earlier you are in luck but not for the 03's and up - this sucks I know guys

In my 02 as in Gurfein's it is a simple install right into the radio with the BOSE systems and it does sound good.

If I had an 03 or newer I would get a full REUS system and get the eclipse head unit with an AUX input for the pod for sure

you'd think by now most cars/head units would just include an AUX port right in the front.

I would check out the Monster Cable iCruze product which is designed to interface an iPod and external amps to a factory headunit. It's $299.99 from what I have read.

Call Becker, order the adapter (comes with keys) pull your head unit and plug the adapter into blue cd changer slot (top right). Get a Y (RCA to small jack) adapter from Radio Shack and plug it into your ipod. Access user menu on head unit and activate AUX. You're good to go!
