Number of Ignitions Range 2

I know this has been covered but I can't seem to find out what the acceptable to to bad limits are. Obviously zero Range 2 is the best but how realistic is that on a 12 year old 996 Turbo??
my car has 1100 1892.0h with over 3100 total operating hours

So the way i interpret the those numbers is the car has close to 2000hrs since last over rev and less than 2.8 secs in over rev

But what does that really mean? is the car a time bomb? has damage been done? if so it certainly doesnt feel or sound like anything is wrong with the car since I have owned it

is this something to worry about?

if i remember correctly my 997 had 41,000 range 2's.. or 16,000. it might be 41,000 range 1's, 16,000 2's, a few thousand 3's, and i had like a dozen 5's AND 6's.
80,000 miles.

2100 hours if i remember correctly.

btw, youre reading that correctly....

the 5's and 6's happened at around 30k-ish thousand miles

996 has range 1 and 2 only. 997 has range from 1 to 6.

FWIW...

When I bought my car it had 1580 hours and the oil sample I sent to blackstone came back perfect.
Range 1: 8100 / 1558h
Range 2: 237 / 1510h

Ck986 is infamous around these parts
My car had about

8500 type 1
75 type 2 @ 800 hours
1600 hours total

I almost bought a car with 9k miles that had 29 type 2. I could not find a car with 0 type two. The worst I found was 250 type 2 in 14k miles. Keep in mind I was not looking at tuned cars.

The 996 Range 1 and 2 overrev counters are rather meaningless. Even in a un modified car you can induce range 2 overrevs on hard upshifts. If you're car has been flashed, you will get range 2 overrevs all the time.
