ABS PSM Error Lights
ABS PSM Error Lights
Just got the dreaded ABS and PSM error code lights. Not sure what is causing it, but I have a few ideas. I hooked up my Durametric and the only error code reading is "5525 - Incorrect data transfer with DME master control unit".
A few months ago I changed to the GT2 decklid, I have the spoiler error code show up as well but have been disregarding it. At the same time I installed a LED 3rd brake light. Could this be a possible cause?
Two months ago I also switched to a BMC air filter. I've heard that a MAF failure can throw these codes as well. But would that happen after only two months? I don't exactly drive that much, and my car only have 16k miles on it.
I've tried to clear the code in Durametric with no luck. Any ideas?

Threw in a LED resistor to the third brake light (two of them actually, one for each cable). I was able to clear the ABS/PSM error code using Durametric, however when I start the car they show up again in a second or two.
No airbag light or any others. The only other that comes on is my spoiler failure light since I changed to the GT2 decklid and haven't gone to the dealer to reprogram it yet.
In durametric my charge monitoring is 13.7 V and my supply voltage is 12.9 V.
Any other thoughts?

So yesterday I installed those resistors to the third brake light (one on each cable). Also cleared all faults in Durametric and checked voltages as described above. Today my fuels gauge dropped to zero and is reading nothing. I filled up and same thing. Any thoughts?

I managed to fix the spoiler error using the wiring fix mentioned above and by cutting off the two sensors (which were originally depressed when I taped them down).
I also took out my MAF and cleaned it using MAF cleaner. I then cleared the codes successfully in Durametric. Again, after starting the car the two error lights come back with the same error code: "5525 - Incorrect data transfer with DME master control unit"
Any thoughts on what could be the issue? I don't want to just be guessing and replacing parts.

I didn't try that. Is it safe to disconnect the MAF cable and start the car?
The only error lights on now at the ABS and the PSM, and the same error code as previously. I've installed the 3rd brake light LED resistors (one on each cable).
The spoiler light went away after following the guide above and cutting out the sensors.
The fuel gauge fault went away after a full fill up of gas.

The problem with the "idiot" lights ABS/PSM is the fault could be many things. Could be the MAF, steering sensors, etc. The Durametric code 5525:
Fault code 5525
Torque transmission from the DME disturbed at times
Diagnostic conditions
• Engine running
• Fault is sent by the DME control module via the CAN
Possible cause of fault
♦ Fault in DME
Just out of curiosity, how old is your battery?

I have a tune by Markski, could it be related to that? I've had it for many months before having this engine check light issue though
